I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. People are very sensitive in regards to their teams, and the slightest indication that a commentator isn't favouring their team, it means they have it in for them. The same way refs hate certain teams.

He was way OTT on Friday, there were comments galore about him on FB.
Wasnt the usual crap

The only commentary team I liked was Beetson, Boland and Peard covering the Saturday game on the ABC. Those were the days without BS, just pure footy.

I think you're right, but at the same time it was like he had his house on Manly.

I'm not going to go to lengths to whinge about how bad he was because he is generally like that every week. He normally backs a team and follows it through his commentary, I think everyone is only just noticing now because it was a Tigers game. I've long couldn't stand him, about time he gets the tap on the shoulder.

didnt hear any of ray warrens commentary as i mute the call and watch the action.

he may very well have backed manly and was thinking of his skyrocket.

ive always thought he had a soft spot for the western sydney teams - his son did play for parra and wests

and he is a hills resident i believe.

all commentators wear thin if you hear too much of them.

richie benaud believed, at times,no commentary is good commentary.every picture tells a story.

thats why i like the mute button.
