Did you have Zipping 3 weeks ago? I left it out :blush:

Great horse over 2000m, but I can't see So You Think allowing anyone to slow this race down to allow the likes of Zipping or more importantly Whobegotu to fly home… So You Think has the second fastest time in this race (Might & Power holds the record) and I reckon it is traveling better than last year...

FYI - only one 9yr old has won the Cox Plate (Fields of Omagh)

That was a great win when FOO got up that day. At $25 from memory.

I backed Zipping on GF day at Flemmington. Will probably put something on that and hope!

Very bloody unlikely. I will have a bet on Zipping for old time's sake. I got a long way to go before I lose any money on him this prep :slight_smile:

He still beat some quality runners. He beat Lonhro in 2003 and beat amongst others El Segundo, Pompeii Ruler, Miss Finland (at the time rated one of the best horses in the country), Casual Pass and Racing to Win in 2006.

The only thing that will stop So You think is a poor ride (unlikely) or something going crazy and putting pressure on him 1000 out. I think the latter is a chance with Wall Street and Avienus.

Whobe for mine if pressure is applied.

what are you talking about ,the slower the pace the less chance for zipping or whobegotyou to win.
 
Yeh thats right Magpie Mania.

Cox Plate day is my favourite day of the year, but im not even going to have a bet. Im just gonna sit back and watch it and i hope i see So You Think emerges as a true star. Been a few years since we have had a true star to watch
 
I am placing 100 on Zipping cause I like the name..

And 100 on Andrew Fifita to score the 1st Try for Tonga,,,,,

Rubbish… Zipping and Whobe cant go with So you think if he runs this at an up-tempo pace, which I think it will.
 
an up tempo pace sets it up for the frontrunners to tire and the backmarkers to run over the top of them. Im tipping the connections of So You Think would prefer a steady tempo up front, not a fast one.
 
I like a longshot at the Gold Coast Race 3 - Irish Oyster. Like Zipping but have been leaning to Trusting. Just don't want to back So You Think and hope another runner can pressure it all the way to line.
 
I'm just chasing a few outsiders today and avoiding the favourites, in hope really.

Poor Judge (fail), Hot Danish, Lion Tamer & Shoot Out for mine.
 
The Melbourne Cup just got a little more interesting. I consider Shocking a genius at Flemington and over 3200m, and now a true natural star will take it on in So You Think.

They were running So You Think down at the end but i wouldnt read too much into that. Obviously we have no idea how the horse will run 3200m, but class will carry it a long way and a lot will depend on how the race is run. Should be a great race Tuesday week, really looking forward to it and i'd love it if Shocking and So You Think fought it out up the straight, sort of like how Jezabeel and Champagne did one year.
 
That was something special today. Everyone who watched it run, should of enjoyed the class that is So You Think.

A very special mention should go to Zipping. A true Aussie Champion Horse who ran a great race today…
 
I'm off to the Melbourne Cup.With all the info on here I should back a winner.Bart could get up again,so to can Gai Waterhouse.Anyway I'm off to have a good time win or lose…or maybe I'll be flogging a dead horse or two.Looking for a big 2011 season...
