FYI Just Fine has now won 5 races for the syndicate since it came from the UK. It was one of the Queens, and later Kings horses sold at a dispersal sale. Gai snapped it up for $685k and to date has won $1,055m including the Group 1 Metropolitan and G3 Bart Cummings, so it’s more than paid its way.
It would be nice to dream even a Top 5 finish in the Cup although they pay $160k down to 12th, not that it’s about the money. The excitement is palpable.
First things first, I’m off to Derby Day tomorrow, a day I always look forward to.
I’m tipping No 7 ew in the Derby. Thought it was a good run last start at the Valley, reasonable odds and Frosty Lane to ride.

El Castello looks hard to beat, I will have $50 the win straight out at $4
 
Zardozi & Okita Soushi look primed.

But....I keep looking at Circle of Fire & Warp Speed.

Those Japanese horses are tough. And Circle of Fire's win at 3200 in the Sydney Cup @ Randwick was impressive over Serpentine & Athabascan

U could back .10 horses and still not get a place , but us punters never give up
 
I find it increasingly difficult to get excited about the Cup but if I do get around to betting I'll take the second Waller horse, the one that came third in the Caulfield Cup.
