my tips for the cup are Daffodil and shocking both finished off their last races really well and at their weight should feature in the finish despite the barriers.

Last night my brother asked me what my best bet was. I told him $10 on Shocking to win. At work (I work at a TAB) a mate asked me what my best bet was I told him $10 Each Way on Shocking. Both cashed in on my tip, but I wasn't game enough to put my money where my mouth was. Then after the race all the punters were asking me if I had a bet, so it is stuck in my head right now. Absolutely spewing, but I do feel some pride in the fact I called the winner, and if I backed it, it wouldn't have won.

Hey People… i hope everyone had a great melbourne cup day and that they didn't overspend to much... im stoked i won the money but more happy i finally found a horse and after following it for ages it wins a big race... i love the Mark Kavanagh stable and will always follow it... .. Plus you had to love the Black and Orange Colors :slight_smile:

If u back a horse once and it wins it doesnt really mean much, but if u follow it, u get to the point where u dont really look what else is in the race, u just see the name of your horse and u back it. In 20 years time, when someone asks u who your fave horse was, im sure you'll still think of Shocking.

Had a good Derby day but a shocker on Cup Day and Oaks day.
For what it is worth, I like Sound Journey in the last in Melbourne and Von Costa de Hero as a knock-out chance in the Emirates. David Hayes, the knucklehead, will get a change of luck.

I like Von Costa De Hero as well. I also think Walking or dancing might go well there as well.
Big fan of Crossthestart in Race 8 - the QE Stakes.
I think Logan's Choice in the last in Sydney can give that race a fair shake.
Long shot - Jupitars Gold in the last race at Adelaide.

This time of year i always try to cut back.
Just one bet 2morro….........The Jackal in Brisbane. I normally never back anything carrying 60kg or more, but i think it can do the job.
