Will believe he's walked when it's official

If he has just popped home to visit his ill father and isnt going to rugby then the journalism in this country has hit a new low.

i first listened to it on ABC Grandstand with Moore and he quoted Danny Weidler "Radradra has hopped onto a plane and told the parra officials he's never coming back"

if what Geo says is true, then weidler should fly to fiji on his own money and apologise to the radradra family personally. and then to the australian public for being the knucklehead he normally is.

What a grub this Semi is. Admits he only plays for Australia for the money, then walks on the Eels for more cash just weeks after they had to cut players to get under the cap. I have no respect for this guy at all.

Semi playing for Australia…. Haha...Bet he can't recit our National Anthem

That is the joke! He didn't sing it, probably because he didn't know the words.
I watched him not sing it.

Is he an Australian citizen and if not, how did he play for Australia?

I notice players that are born and bred in Australia, don't always sing the National Anthem either Russ.
But i agree that he should not have been allowed to play for Australia so soon, as his heart is with Fiji and not Australia. It seems that his motivation was money. But coming from a very poor background with a family to support back home, who could blame him.. I could never turn my back on my country, but he's the one that's got to live with his decision.

Walking out on the club is a dog move. At least he was honest about his motives about playing for Australia though.

Someone's telling porkies ,Parra perhaps

If I were Parra, I would be saying " thanks for the memories". No player is bigger than the club and they either want to play for the club or they don't.

Although with Parra you never know what they are up to and why

Given their recent history it's probably safe to assume that what they are up to is dodgy.

Tigermama - I think we in Australia have some very curious ideas about eligibility for international Rugby League. At least Radradra represented the country that he and his family (ie partner and child) happened to be living in. What about all the Australians that have represented NZ?

I remember when James Tamou made his debut for Australia (amidst howls of protest from the Kiwis) that in that test match 8 Australian born and bred players turned out for NZ. And yet, nothing was said about them turning their back on Australia. If the Kiwis couldn't choose Australian born players and players who migrated to Australia and grew up here, they would struggle to field a competitive team.

I think there is a lot of hypocrisy around this area of international eligibility.

Unfortunately at the moment with Parra, if they said It was raining I would have to go outside an check myself.
Players come, players go. NRL will survive without them.

Parra reminds me on today's Labour party, spend money willy nilly, just add another million to spendometer (Sandow, Watmough etc.) :bash
Luckily, except in our eraly days (McCracken, Hapoate, Hill, Buetner, Graham) we never had that much money

Eels statement regarding Semi Radradra
\
\
Tue 21st June, 02:20PM

The Parramatta Eels and Semi Radradra’s management can confirm that Semi will be returning as expected to prepare for the club’s next NRL game against Cronulla.

Semi has also assured the club today that he will remain with the Eels as per his contract until at least the end of the 2017 season.

"Like other Eels players during the bye round, Semi was granted leave by the club to return home and visit family. This has led to some unnecessary speculation regarding his future," said Semi Radradra’s manager, George Christodoulou from Next Generation Sports.

"I have spoken to Semi directly and he would like to assure Eels fans and the wider rugby league community that he will be returning as scheduled in time to prepare for Eels’ next NRL game against Cronulla."

"He remains fully committed to his teammates and will be remaining with the Eels until at least the end of the 2017 season, as per his current contract."

The club will be making no further comment regarding this matter.

Semi's sister seems convinced otherwise , I'd probably trust his sister over his club at the moment

Lefty's safe for a bit longer , don't need it anyway , I'm in retirement

It wasn't just the human excrement Weidler that was the source of the story, there was more to it than the imagination of that man-child. Semi, his manager, the club or some combination of those was up to shenanigans and the NRL (and Schubert) seem to have done a good job of shutting it down.

Radradra still undecided on Eels return

By AAP

Despite claims to the contrary from his manager, Parramatta winger Semi Radradra says he's not decided if he'll remain with the beleaguered NRL club. Radradra flew to his native Fiji last weekend after helping the Eels to victory over South Sydney amid speculation he is to sign a deal to play French rugby.

Parramatta released a statement on Monday saying the winger had returned home with the club's consent for a short visit and manager George Christodoulou said his client would definitely be running out against Cronulla on July 2\. However, Radradra told News Corp Australia he's still mulling over his future and refused to rule out a switch to Europe. "I haven't made a decision on anything," Radradra said. "I'm just here to see my family and talk through it with them. "I'm just here to have a break."

Radradra's sister Vaseva Waqatuva told News Corp she was looking forward to helping her brother work out his future. "No, he has not made a decision yet. "He'll be on the island later this week and is coming to talk to Dad and the rest of the family about that."

Radradra received some support from an unlikely source in South Sydney prop Tom Burgess who has openly declared a desire to play in the NFL and recently worked out with five teams. "People have ambition and that is just human nature, you have ambition, and you want to go on and play in a different country and have a new life experience," Burgess said. "I met Semi in the All Stars camp this year and I wish him all the best in whatever he decides on doing. "Obviously people in the rugby league world want him to stay because he is a great athlete and he is a great asset to our sport but he has to do what is best for him at the end of the day."

If the AAP story is correct, then I hope Parra sue him for breach of his existing contract. Good luck to him for trying to earn a better contract, to help himself and his family, but there are better ways of doing this then just walking out.

Not sure what is happening behind closed doors at Parra, and if previous grievances by Semi have not been corrected with his current payments, but this is a pretty immature way of dealing with it.

I suppose we will know more in the weeks to come.

Radradra's $200,000 union bonus: report
AAP on June 28, 2016, 7:52 am

NRL star Semi Radradra stands to make $35,000 a week if he joins French rugby union club Bordeaux.
He will reportedly earn an extra $200,000 per season after tax if he accepts a deal to head to French rugby union with Bordeaux. The Parramatta winger has been offered $463,860 a season to join the club according to News Corp Australia, with the French tax rate meaning only eight per cent of that would be deducted. By comparison, Radradra loses 46 per cent of his reported $375,000 NRL salary to tax.

It's understood the 24-year-old was one of three wingers offered a deal by Bordeaux at the start of the season, however the other two have since accepted jobs elsewhere. The offer is still on the table and the rugby club are said to be happy for Radradra to see out the 2016 NRL season before joining them. Meanwhile Fiji's national coach hasn't ruled the destructive ball runner out of representing the country at the 2019 World Cup.

Radradra is still to return to Sydney to train with the Eels ahead of Saturday's clash with Cronulla. He was given leave over the bye weekend to fly home to Fiji and was meant to return on Sunday, however that has now been extended to Wednesday.

Well we will all have our answer tomorrow if he flies back in as his manager has said

Rumour has it that Parra were up to some naughty business , but the NRL kiboshed it

Good to see Parra learnt their lesson with the Salary Cap scandal only 6 weeks behind us

Obviously the fines and punishment have scared the Eels witless LOL

If its proven that Parra were being naughty again, why doesn't the NRL just put them straight back to zero points now :crazy , and not lot them accrue anymore for this season. :bulb:

Breaking News!!! Danny Wanker might have exclusive new unverified information from an imaginary source that Semi was once spotted drinking from a bubbler while walking a dog past Star City. Had Semi not been in Fiji at the time he possibly would have declined to comment.
