Some random thoughts from the first 4 rounds.
Potter - 4/10\. We have clearly gone backwards in our attack. We haven't scored a single try all year from good attack. Scored several from dummy half and from isolating a single defender. But not one try which you could say was indefensible. It is very concerning. I am also concerned about the selection of Masada and what that means for Harry's judgment. MI has been very poor in state cup. We were a much better side last week when Luani was on he field. I disagreed with going into a game against Manly without Ava but picking MI was crazy. I also haven't seen any great improvements in our defensive structure. I am hoping that will come in the next few weeks. I an greatly concerned about our backrow. That Fults was resigned for 3 years bemuses me. The game has moved past the skillfull, light backrower. I still have high hopes for Harry but at the moment we were a better side under Sheens.
Farah - still taking poor options and over dominating every set near the opposition line. Needs to take less steps from hooker and let Miller and Marshall take more of the reins near the opposition line. Our forwards are playing against a 5m defensive line by the time Farah gets the ball to them. Quick service is the key. Robbie needs to choose his time to go or use the ball more prudently. C Smith have a display of first class hooking last night. Show that often less is more. Farah is a champion player but needs to be a smarter footballer.
Moltzen - proving a lot of doubters wrong. Some very good takes in the past two weeks. Apart from the Uate try in rd 1, has barely put a foot wrong. Still not a strong returner of the football and doesn't jump to take the highball which is a big negative. Teddy should be the number 1 by the middle of the year.
Reddy - too slow for first grade no matter how "safe" he is. He couldn't make the grade iin a ordinary Eels side. Don't know why we think he will turn it around here. If we consider ourselves serious contenders, we need to invest in youth and speed on both flanks.
Marshall - he needs to seriously consider whether he still has the motivation to play at this level. One word "pedestrian" sums up his first 4 rounds.
Miller - he has yet to lock the position up. A lot to like and a lot not. Would help if he had willing runners ready to take an offload from him. Unfortunately, our back rowers, particularly Fulton, don't seem keen on backing up our halves this year.
Ayshford - too slow for the centres. Other sides have worked out his one trick since 2011\. Will never be as effective again. Would like Simona to get a go. We need a faster backline.
