You’re right. It really was a shamble, Sutton had no clue what was going on and was struggling to keep up. In any other world he’d be dropped for next week’s game.

I was reminded in the short video earlier on this thread of the decision to penalise our forward for not clearing the ruck on that Damian Cook knock on. That was a terrible call and would never be called for us. Where was he supposed to go? I hate those sort of penalties.

Another dud ref’s call. Hasn’t been a penalty since 2018

That was mikale. He was like a meter back from the play the ball. The player must of launched it back with his heal and cook waited for it to hit Mikale before he went to pick it up. I thought he was clear and the ruck was actually in front of him. Have to watch it again though, but agree I doubt a penalty for another side.
Someone also mentioned Sutton screaming out the Rabbitohs player names when they are offside but calling ‘six again’ against us without warning.

Re: your last point , Needa . . . he was also calling them by name to get off our players, and the only WT player's name he knew is "6 again"

Nofoaluma, a player of his experience, having the ball stripped. Huge moment.

Talau and Doueihi allowing Latrine out of the in-goal , Huge moment

To be fair Talau is a whisker from slapping that ball back for a try.

Does that whisker happen to be from King Kong? He was nowhere near making any sort of positive contact to the football, though I understand his intent, it's the 1% play.

Have you looked at the footage post game? The ball is bouncing and not in Mitchell's possession when Talau arrives. It's a split second thing. The ball was bouncing for a while. I think 1% is a harsh assessment.

Yeah I looked at it and you aren't quite correct - Latrell is already taking possession when Talau arrives, see the picture below. Talau comes from a blind position, he can't clearly see the ball and Latrell is already shepherding it with his body. Latrell is no fool, he's got the ball covered, he's just waiting to see if it rolls dead. Latrell also backs himself to take the likely body shot, because he's so strong.

What's worse is Talau makes a play from the sideline direction, which I can understand because he's trying to bat infield, but it opens up the space for Latrell to pivot in-field and down the sideline. Talau doesn't even make body contact. Talau doesn't get stepped. He gives away the ability to make a tackle by playing for the ball.

Doueihi is also bearing down on his own kick, but he doesn't cover the space where Talau was, he is a few metres in-field. This makes sense, he's preparing for Latrell to try and run in-field because Talau has him covered down the sideline.

Now whilst I can understand exactly what Talau is doing, it's the riskier play at that moment, and in that moment we were in front and didn't need more points. It was a perfect kick from Doueihi. It really should have been a repeat set. Latrell is 99% to be tackled or pushed into touch. Instead, he reads what Talau is doing, he has a natural ability to find space, and he pivots back down the sideline from where Talau came, back into Talau's gap, and half-way down the field.

Rest is history.

When was that? Was that the in air double knock back that feel under Graham?

Graham knocked that on imo. The ball didn't look controlled - used the ground to support it before he got a grip on it properly. Just another incident in probably the most shambolic game I've ever seen.

Exactly what I said. He pushes the ball along the ground with his hand, without ever having control of it first. You can't do that, you can't take possession by rolling a football, it has to be a single clean pickup.

Kinda like his failed attempt to shoulder charge Ferguson over the sideline when charging across only to get thin air when a wrap up tackle would of sufficed...

Yep that's a loss of possession any day of the week normally. Especially with all of the camera angles and slow mo used. Mind boggling

Latrell thread locked so I’ll post it here.

Mitchell is becoming an expert at becoming the victim. He elbows a player in the head, off the ball and doesn’t get penalised. He finishes the game.
Then he gets his suspension - as was deserved.
Then all he’ll breaks loose:
- Commentators everywhere leap to his defense
- Bennett comes out in support
Souths come out in support and make a decision to do the job of the NRL and hold an inquiry into the merits of the charge system. Gory gory to Souths and all that

Then the big one - Latrell has had a hard eeek and is feeling mentally distressed because of the fan outrage.

And there you have it - Mitchell is the victim. What a performance.

He elbowed a player in the head and copped 4 weeks. The fan outrage is because no one can accept that. Including fragile Mitchell.

I don't like the guy but let's put it in perspective. Jack DeBellin is also playing the victim. There are levels of this stuff.

Wasn't really fan outrage, 2 people were arrested for racial abuse. The rest I agree with but just think it went beyond fan outrage.

What is with these people abusing players post game. These two attack Latrell and bloke the other week having a go at Morris because of a multi. Absolute fools

Yeah it is disgusting, Luke brooks copped some terrible abuse after the Leichhardt game as well.

My comments regarding fan outrage have nothing to do with the racist buffoon minority. There is however huge numbers of seemingly fair minded people perplexed at the defending of Mitchell’s actions. Mitchell is not the victim here. He elbowed a bloke in the face

Isn't the mental distress in relation to the racist comments though?

There is definitely a racial slant to it and sadly like elsewhere, this forum is not immune from it. I know it us a confronting subject, but even as one who sees it, I still struggle to get past that which was ingrained by society growing up and whilst to a lesser extent, still surrounds to this day in my Anglo dominated area.
