Rankin or JAC moving forward

Play the best players on their positions.

In saying that JAC has had 2 poor weeks, if he has another bad game after the bye then he should be replaced

JAC without any doubt whatsoever. He is a natural finisher and possesses skill and pace Rankin simply does not have. Anyone choosing Rankin isn't being objective.

Or they just see things differently? Objectively JAC is a lot faster and a more powerful runner. Objectively Rankin has more experience and composure and the game awareness that comes from experience playing in the halves. Different people will value those things differently.

JAC is a higher risk, higher reward option and we've seen both sides of that so far. Look at last night for the risk - he missed an early chance and then never got his head back in the game. Another mistake followed and then he showed inexperience in failing to get down low coming out of goal. Later he was out of position for two Reynolds kicks in a row, standing too narrow and too shallow. Plus he failed to compete when Auva'a scored that try. Sure he ran the ball back hard and looked dangerous a couple of times, but the net result was that he was probably worst on the park for us. He won't be like that every week but he's got it in him like most rookies do.

I can see why plenty of people want JAC but we've got enough young, inexperienced guys for my liking. Those that are in it for the long haul I'm happy to see us persist with. Those that aren't I'm happy to see us leave as a problem for someone else.

JAC has some freaky in him and had a great game three weeks ago. Might have saved 4 tries.

But is was Rankins experience that we're moving players around for the field goal. They even mention is on the Tv commentary.

We had players in the past that made good dirty meters from a ball return. That isn't what is needed.

JAC has been taken back into goals many times in the past three games.

Rankin doesn't make many meter with the ball. But he doesn't loss many either.

We need a kicker, a winger and experience. Does anyone know of a Pat Richards clone.

What we have is far from what we need.

I'm not a Rankin fan. He is playing so far out of his depth on the wing in a free running team. But goal kicking and experience is needed more at this stage.

Let Melbourne experiment with JAC next year

Rankin and pretty well all of his reggies team mates had an absolute shocker in Wollongong today losing to the Illawarra Cutters. They went from a 14-0 lead to a 44-14 loss and were just embarrassing for the last 50 some minutes-time I will never get back

I don't care about 2017, 2016 is still alive for us. JAC is a natural winger where Rankin is a not.

Moses and Simona need to practice goal kicking.

Last night's team is the best we can field and besides injury or giving JJ another go it should stay the same.

Agree completely.

I think Rankin will make a bigger name for himself in NRL than Addo-Carr will. Hopefully, it will be with the Tigers. But, if not, it will happen somewhere.

In what position LCA? he's like johny morris, i can't work out where he should be playing.

Good post, I agree 100%

Moses goal kicked well last week in the wet and then was off Friday night….having said that I wasn't overly confident with Rankin g.k.overall. Maybe one more week for JAC as it will be in front of his coach to be in Bellamy. So the pressure will be on him whether he shines or declines.

For me I'd be choosing neither..and go with Hunt…

**JAC** has a shocker on Friday night, he did nothing more than Rankin would have done. JAC is going so I dont see why we should continue to develop his game for the benefit of another team.

**Rankin** is not a winger, he is a 5/8 or fullback....so I would not play him on the wing just because he can kick goals...His goal kicking is marginally better than Moses, yes, but he is not the long term G/K answer, so we should continue to develop Moses in that area.

I'd be going with **Hunt** on the wing for the rest of 2016\. He is a natural winger, faster than Rankin. Give him the wing spot for 2016 and see if he is worthy of a contract for 2017...if he bombs then promote Rankin as our makeshift winger as we know he does a steady job there.

Put Freddie Smith there if you like but no JAC.

Let Bellamy see him go round in reggies.

Agree, put Rankin , Hunt or whoever in .
JAC has shown his true colours and they ain't ours !

If JAC starts next week WT you will see a compassionate request come through to break the Storm contract. He was quite simply horrible the last 2 weeks. We need to sign a winger its a huge issue.
Ken Maumalo from Warriors would be nice.

i don't believe that to be the case with guys like Peni-Heleta playing well and the nyc boys i don't think signings are necessary

JAC lookin good in purple. But not Black, White and Gold
If he doesn't want to be here, we don't want him here.

Stick with JAC especially with the match against the Storm looming on the proviso he doesn't put in another shocker like he did against the Bunnies and Moses can do better than 2/7

I'd like to see Rankin back if JAC has another shocker.

His boot isn't as great as purported, but he is an able winger and if one of the Broses goes down he can fill in there in a pinch, ditto with Teddy.

I would play Addo Carr until we cant make the finals 100%

Pick the best team available

If Rankin was a 90 % goal kicker it might be different but he is not. He is only average in NRL terms.

not a bad idea tbh. right now, a simple question is who's gonna offer us the most on the wing in 2 weeks until the end of season? doing the +/- hunt would be at the top of my list

I wouldn't mind seeing someone else on the wing. Ado Carr was poor against Souths. And we know what Rankin can do. If Rankin isn't killing it in SC then pick a winger or centre from there that is. That's partly what the comp is for. for players to show their skills and see if they can step up and make firsts.
also Simona has had some of his best games on the wing for the WTs. Against Souths both Kev and Simona played at pace and made Souths look slow, although there opposition centre got injured early and they had to reshuffle there backline, so our RHS defence didn't get tested.
I maybe give Ado one more chance against Melbourne, if he plays poorly again then id go a SC winger or MCK to centre and Simona on the wing.
