Ray Cashmere - another prop option

Super League stats from last year:

25 games
15.5 Carries per game
107.2 metres per game
27 tackles per game
1.2 missed tackles per game
1.9 offloads per game
0.6 errors per game
0.6 penalties per game

Pretty solid numbers for a minimum contract signing who might get some games off the bench.

Don't compare Super League with the NRL. Those numbers when compared to Blair make him look like a super star.

The cash may be a great man off the field, but he is far from it on the field!

Stoked to see this go through. Experience will be invaluable for Groat and Woods and takes a bit of pressure off the pack

Hallelujah, all our percieved problems have now been solved with the Resurerection of Ray Kashmircoat, it's Easter and the miracles don't cease, the Lord Almighty is now proving that the Tigers are his favourite team.

Best of luck to him but does this mean we need to add a smokey dawson chair to those special chairs on the sidelines during games?

Run a form line through Luke Burgess (Burgess has similar to worse numbers from 2011 SL) who was solid for Souths last year and I think his numbers show he still has something to offer. Cashmere is a good signing for minimum dollars.

Ok. After a bit more time to think it is a solid signing if he stays in reserve grade.

After we lost yet another prop (broken arm) last weekend.

As ever, with any signing/player I doubt, I hope if given an opportunity he makes me look like an utter fool and performs brilliantly for Wests Tigers

Good luck Ray, welcome back….this IS it, no more next times ...make the most of it.

Can't argue with that comment Ink. Hope he makes the most of it and provides some impact if he gets a run off the bench at some stage.

If I was Junior Moors I'd be asking for an immediate release. What does he have to do to get a spot?! It's like he's done the dirty with Sheens' wife…

I agree Alex, Moors should look for another club because clearly this signing tells us that Sheens doesn't rate him and will not be using him again.

Yes … That's a really good point. Both Groat and Woods have what it takes to make it in the big time .... But they are still very young. Signing someone with a lot of experience can onlybe helpful.

Better off getting daine Laurie back

did you ever meet dane ? if you did you wouldnt want him back ,was a 12 year old in a mans body .

Tim Sheens in his time at the Tigers has a very poor track record in coaching Indigenous players, Daine was a cult figure amongst the fans at the game, Owen Craigie had that much talent he should still be playing for the Tigers while his last failure in Robert Lui proved that you need a certain type of coach to handle a certain type of player.
Albert Kelly would have failed in our system far earlier than he did than he did at the Sharks.

I realise you said in his time at the Tigers, but maybe it's been the quality of the player as a person moreso than Sheens. I mean he certainly didn't have any trouble at the Raiders with Meninga, Daley or Johnny Ferguson.

Will be a great option for the club former rep player -makes big meters lots of size solid defence -great signing whoever doesn't think so knows nothing about football and that is for certain. As for sheens he is a great coach of a team that's been top 4 last 2years and His coaching of indigenous players has been the same as any other player as it should be or are you recommending he should start discriminating by race

All these players were already established at the Raiders and had experienced the Wayne Bennett/Don Furner influence that took them to the 1987 Grand Final, Mal and John were very experienced players by this stage while Laurie Daley had talent oozing out his pores, Daley in fact was a Premiership winner in the Group 9 comp with Junee at the age of 16 such was his talent prior to joining the Raiders, even so he was on the bench as a teenager in 1987.
