Gee things have changed around here. Wasnt too long ago that me saying i disliked Rabs went down like a lead balloon. He has been this way for many years and has a huge ego. Whenever he gets questioned or corrected he reacts in a very bad way IMO…he just cant take it.
A few weeks ago sums him up for me. He was on radio talking about the silly honour he recieved, what was it, an OAM or something?? Anyway, he said "ive been looking at some of the broadcasters over the years who have recieved one and i was starting to wonder what i had to do to get it".. ...hahaha well said Rabs, cos it sums u up perfectly...EGO

In the end he doesn't have to agree, he needs to understand the changes ( which I'm sure he does), and he openly critisizes them at every opportunity he gets.
Very smart man Gus. As a NRL club head, he should not make so much noise on this issue, but as a commentator... Well... He knows how to get his point across to millions.

20 years ago, if it looked like a try, a knock on, a penalty or a shepherd to the ref he just went with it, often we disagreed with decisions and there was conjecture, but no definitive proof so more vague interpretations were fine.
That is not possible in this day and age, and hard and fast rules with so many area of grey make it so hard for rule makers and refs alike.
We are so hard on our refs as well, in most sports they make just as many mistakes, they just get on with the game.

Sorry happy, wasnt commenting on the second part of the email, was just sort of giving my opinion on some of the less attractive parts of the game which Gus hates, was just giving my thoughts why they have happened and are hard to fix.
I have noticed a change of speed in the ruck over the last few weeks overall, but some games seem worse than others for that….
