That'll really encourage the team 🙄

That’s all well and good but we were down 18-0 in the first 15 mins last game

I hope we practice tackling this week because it sure as hell doesn’t look like we did any practice in the off season.

Madge had to make changes after the last game. Douehi's move into the centres is almost certainly not a permanent thing and, who knows, it just might work. Really like young Madden and Blore getting a go off the bench and Jake Liddell starting.

Maguire showing us very obviously that you can’t polish a turd. I think deep down he’ll take the years pay and move on.

Some of the younger players need to be spelled, ie Simpkin and Stafano.

Apart from Mbye at 6 for AD, (which might be misdirection), it could be good for the guys.

not panicking just yet, ll about 2022

The competition really is starved of quality halves. Can't see this changing anytime soon with with very few good prospects coming through. Penrith and Melbourne set for years of domination.

Doueihi still played well, a lot better than Mbye and brooks that's for sure. Shifting him to centre has no purpose.

Maguire stated in his post game press conference “that’s leadership. What’s being said behind the try line. Owning it. All those things that need to happen whilst you’re behind the try line. our older guys need to take control. All those sorts of things need to go on to fix up those areas of the game”

So he drops a 19 year old 3 gamer, a 20 year old two game and a 20 year old 11gamer.

Bearing in mind he has signed most of the top 30 barring Packer & Mbye - and yet the team has the second worst defence in the comp despite his reputation as a defensive minded coach. Given all this, his coaching tenure has seen his team keep the opposition to below 20 points only ONCE in close to 20 consecutive matches.

His squad has slid down the ladder since his arrival and proudly for the friends and family of Jason Taylor; Maguire now has a worse coaching record than him at WT.

From memory his most recent coaching record is

20 wins from 53 coached at WT
&
18 wins from his last 51 coached at Souths.

**Maguire is the James Roberts/Joseph Leilua of coaching**

holy hell, we've won 20 under Madge???

It will be interesting the two most maligned and most experienced in the middle. No where to hide and someone will have to lead.

Doueihi single handedly got us back into that game. If he had been playing centre the margin would have been 24 points. Moving him is ludacris.

I reckon it will be madden in to spell Liddle and Mbye moving to 9 .

I think an earlier poster nailed it. Madden will start and it could become a battle for the 7 jersey between LB and JM. Doueihi back to 6 when we know the long term 7.

I like Douehi at centreâś…

If we signed Pap and moved Laurie to 6, I'm OK with it. To accommodate Mbye, not a chance in...

Be interesting to see if Joey puts in like he did to some extent last game. With the English centre Gildart now signed for 2022 and beyond, and with Joey in his last contract year with us, he must know that he's still got a lot of work to do to get a new deal.

He played great when Titans clocked off, I agree. Sick of playing catch up footy every week ...

Give me the same defensive attitude we showed against the dragons & souffs any day over scoring a flurry of points when we’ve already been beaten

It’s only purpose is to demoralise a guy who’s been playing well and trying his guts out. It’s no wonder players don’t want to play for Madge.

Do or die for Brooks with Madden named at 14
“Hook Brooks”

Nah.
Looks like Jock will start with Mbye on the bench to give Liddle a spell during the game.
I think Madge just didn't want Jock to deal with the build up.

Then why name him in 14 and not 18?

I think he intends to play Mbye at 6 for the first 30 and then bring Madden on once everything slows down.
