REALISTIC SIGNINGS

I'd sign Wighton for the centres. Fullback is not his position and while BJ and Croker are playing well he'll be the third wheel. I'd also target Kane Linnet from the Cowboys, was good at the Cocks but went to another level in Townsville.

Linnett was great tonight CB

Luke Lewis - experienced, tough and could teach our young guys how to hit a hole
Brenko Lee - will stuggle to get a run at Canberra with Leilua and Croker ahead of him. Big talent
Sam Moa - Could be surplus at the Roosters. Experienced prop who runs hard

On a serious note John Asiata from the Cowboys , actually saw him play in the 6 for the Blackhawks and he was brilliant as well

Joel Thompson , Greg Eastwood

Few centres at a few clubs would be interesting looking at Linnett , Hampton , Nathan Davis from the Titans , Javid Bowen was extremely impressive while he replaced Linnett , Hymel Hunt ,Mitchell Aubusson

- Asiata does look the goods and is being under-utilised at the Cows so he wouldn't be a bad option to target.
- Eastwood yeah, worth a crack at him in the $300K-$350K sort of range. I doubt he'd come cheaper than that.
- Joel Thompson is on good money at the Dragons and they'll make him a decent offer to keep him. Not worth getting into a bidding war for him.
-Linnett will cost a bit as a premiership winner and didn't look good outside the Cowboys structure when he played City v Country (although in fairness they stuck him on the wing). He's looked good getting supply from Thurston with Cooper inside him as a genuine threat, but it won't necessarily translate. Bit of a gamble for mine.
- Hampton is small and I'm not really sure where we could play him. He's kind of like those Nikorimas, they seems like a bit of a luxury if you have some spare bench space but it's weird having them out there for 80.
-Nathan Davis has the build and talent and looks like he should make it, but should we be taking more risks with young players with little experience?
- Bowen yeah he looks good and is a bit older than Davis but I still think the Cows will be happy to let O'Neill or Linnett go knowing they can keep him for a lot cheaper.
- Hunt looked like breaking out for the Bunnies before he got injured. Could be an option and has plenty of size for a centre.
- Aubusson is kind of between a centre and a second rower. Slow in the centres and lacking in impact for a second rower but does a job in either position. I'd prefer specialists in both positions when we have cheap, decent utility options already (not that Kyle Lovett is one of them).

What game were you watching Happy? He failed on three occasions to put his support away for tries. Perhaps I'm reaching from the past but the Crow would have set his winger up for two tries and his support player (Thurston I recall) under the posts.

Out with the old, in with some new players.

Backs
Tom Opacic
Brenko Lee
Jarrod McInally
Jacob Gagan
Tauta Moga

But keeping JJ should also be a priority.

Jacob Gagan is a good player…. I rate him

Its time to give up on our a good portion of our junior system. Start using them as bargaining chips to take other up and coming guns from other clubs.

From what I've heard, the few clubs that invest heavily in their juniors are having second thoughts. After years of looking after them and guiding them through the ranks along comes a top club, offers overs and the young guy leaves. No incentive to keep investing as much.

Just save that money for a top liner or two.

Moses and Brooks, if they leave, should have us thinking twice.

All good spruiking how good it is having half the team full of juniors - only thing is we are at the bottom

I've posted this before and I know it's easy to make a player look like gold in a highlights clip, but I just see lot to like about this guy:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cj14oK-pMqo

He runs good lines, his support play is great, he has speed for a 2nd rower, he can throw a good cut out pass and he just seems to have really good game awareness. Worth asking after I reckon given he's only 21.

reading in the paper today, that the dogs want to off load williams for $100,000 now i know he is a bluger but we could really use his size and it would be his last chance in the nrl. also the warriors are looking to off load hurrell and the beast again both are blugers but we do need help in both areas if they were cheap. i think we could get all three very cheap and all three would be on there last throw in the nrl could bring out the best in them.
thoughts.

Given that most here - think that siro is a bludger - you want to buy three more.

Williams is a non event - always has been, always will be.
Hurrell has flashes of brilliance running at a 50 kg weakling. Trouble is more than half your life could be over waiting for him to get that one flash. Beast is well past his prime.

We can produce our bludgers - don't need to buy them.

And our bludgers, are better than their bludgers( they've been doing it for years and are experts at it,
:roll

Would pay 100k in a heartbeat the rewards far outweight the risks. And we have rose coloured glasses on if we think we have a forward who can impact a game like him.

100k for this year only or are they prepared to pay out for more than 1 season?
