For years I have wanted this club to reach a standard where it's no disgrace to be playing for our State Cup side. Looking at the difficulties everyone (including me) is having naming an NRL side for 2018, I think we are now closer to that situation than ever; our State Cup side will be very hard to beat given the players who are going to miss out on Firsts. Of course the opposite side to that coin is that the First Grade players will really need to perform to keep their spots.

Makes me a very happy old TigerPie.

It's great to have a strong squad question for anyone who knows more then me about the ISP Could you please name a first grade and reserve grade team next to each other it would be great to see thanks

That's probably the best balanced option I've seen so far Tacky

Well done

Eiso and Taylor both in the starting side really doesn't sit well with me. I really think Aloiai needs to be in the run-on side. I have a feeling he is going to be a star next year…

Can't see us carrying Lawrence in first grade either as much as it hurts to say.

I'm a fan of Tacky as a selector. We started playing well when Eiso started at 13, ET moved to the Edge and Marsters was at centre. They did well and will only improve given there lack of NRL experience . If they go backwards we have plenty of options. If they have a strong preseason id give them the opportunity to continue what they started.
I to am a fan of Aloiai , you could start him in the second row or play him off the bench. Either way he should get lots of minutes as he can play anywhere in the pack , with the exception of hooker.

It's a good team and pretty close to what I would expect. Hard to leave aloiai out on his end of season form. He comes in to the starting side for mine with et starting hooker and liddle on bench. The only other change is that I would consider starting Milne in centres with marstens impact backrower on bench with Lawrence dropping off. But I could live with team as above.

Pending fitness I believe Lawrence will get the nod in the 17 at least in the early part of the season. Aloiai will also be in the side - my preference is off the bench as he seems to come on with more intent to have an impact than when he has started. I think the same goes for Sue. I do like Tacky's selections as well. The Hooth has earned a spot but is going to have to lift the impact and aggression to keep his place long term.
My only other concern is Marsters at centre - as much as I saw some good things from him, I am not convinced he is the answer. Whether Milne or Fonua step up remains to be seen - if they do I can't see a place in the first 17 for Marsters.

Looking at other people's teams, it looks like it will be a dogfight between Lawrence, Benji and Milne for the final spot in the 17

You know Ivan Cleary picks the team right… 😕

All teams go through injuries throughout the year.

Lawrence, Reynolds, Brooks will probably spend some time on the sidelines in 2018.'

At least in 2018 we appear to have quality/NRL experience replacements.

love the competition for spots which hasn't been the case for years.
