Anyone leaving Aloiai out of the side is doing a huge injustice to the team. He is our best forward. Beast.

Couldn't agree more. For me he should be the first forward picked each week.

I reckon Thompson needs to be in the 17 somewhere as a back replacement…he is doing very well from all reports....

Which half and his coach are at loggerheads over team selections?

This player wants to swap a member of their spine with a rookie as they’ve struck up quite the combination at training but the coach won’t budge.

Cooper Cronk as he stated that he missed the Storm magic.

Can't work with his new fullback.

I know this is a bit left field but I like the looks of this team
1\. Tui
2.Nofo
3.Masters.
4.Miline.
5.Thompson (If he can handle left wing) or MWZ
6.Reynolds.
7,Gamble
8\. Packer
9.Brooks (UNTIL Liddle is ready)
10\. Matalino
11.Eisenhuth
12 Mc Queen
13\. Taylor.

14\. Twal
15\. Aloai
16\. Felise or sue or Grant
17\. Marshall or Fonua
Fonua's fitness won't last 40min so an impact bench player only at best

Imagine a team with
Tui Reynolds Brooks Gamble and Marshall
I think there would be a lot of play options and keep the opposition guessing all game

i thought Gamble was a 5/8\. Has he played much number 7?
One thing I did like about the Brooks/Reynolds pairing is one is a 7 and one is a 6\. Something we haven't had for years. I would want to run out two 5/8's and no halfback.
Having said that i'd like to see Gamble is the side but i think he won't oust Reynolds at 5/8 or Lolo at 1 or Marsters/Milne in the centres and Benji will probably be the utility.

Thinking the 17 will be
1 Lolohea
2 Nuquima
3 Marsters
4 Milne
5 Nofoaluma
6 Reynolds
7 Brooks
8 Twal
9 McIllwrick
10 Packer
11 Alioa
12 Lawrence
13 Eisenhuth
14 Taylor
15 Matalino
16 Felise
17 Rocho

I'd prefer to wait until we see everyone get a run, but I get the feeling the following will be there:

1\. Lolohea
2\. [MWZ or Thompson]
3\. Naiqama
4\. Marsters
5\. Nofoaluma
6\. Reynolds
7\. Brooks
8\. [either Packer, Twal or Matulino]
9\. [id suggest ET will start here]
10\. [either Packer, Twal or Matulino]
11\. Lawrence
12\. Aloiai
13\. Eisenhurth

I reckon that is very very close to the team that will run out round 1

Very realistic. .

Marsters is the back up goal kicker…

Seeing Esan was played on both sides the other night, it certainly looks that one spot is his, with the combination with wingers being considered. Unless Taane puts in a performance that demands selection, I also think Kev may well get first shot with MWZ on the left.

Who are we thinking? To do with Moses? Robbie? Cleary Junior? Couldn't be a current Tigers player, as Brooks is our half and arguably of our spine he's on the most shaky ground of all.

My thoughts are it is either Ash Taylor, Milford, Foran or Reynolds

Gamble looks like a Matt Moylan style of 6 or 1, not a halfback. Bigger then Moylan, but similar ball playing and running style.

I would start him at 1 in state cup and see how he looks. I can picture him being a classy fullback linking with the halves and picking up Lolo in the centres who is at his best when he just runs hard. Could really see this balance working if Gamble is good enough.

Whats with this fascination of naiqama at centre? If he gets put in the centres in front of milne and marsters I will be spewing. He can play wing or a backup fullback. Thats it.

Why is everyone prepared to play people out of their best positions to accommodate players that probably are not as good as them in t he first place.

E.g. Lolo to centre (which he isn't) so Gamble can play Full back?

Reynolds to DH (which he isn't) so Gamble can play 5/8.

Brooks to DH (which he isn't) so Gamble can play half (which he isn't).

What Gamble needs to do is get it together in ISP - if he does (meanwhile we see what the NRL guys are doing) then look at who he replaces if they are not going well.

What is the rush (on one lousy trial against an uncommitted Cowboys)?

Will you write Cleary a stern email ..? as that's how it's looking…

May be better to ask the coach, as he is the one who had Kev playing at left center in Cairns a couple of nights ago.

All it is Russell is a possible scenerio down the track if Gamble does kill it in state cup and demands selection. I did say Gamble needs to start in state cup and have a look at him there. No rush on him. He has played fullback by the way. As for Lolo, he's a natural athlete, im sure he's good enough to adapt to centre if Ivan tries it. Or are you saying Lolo isn't good enough to adapt? Surely your not saying that Russell. Personally i think he csn play anywhere in the outside backs and be a success, but i guess you dont rate him ss much as i do.

Per my reply to Seantice above, ask the coach.

More to the point, where is all the fascination for Gamble coming from. I thought he went well the other night, but has a way to go to force his way in.

We can't run out with 4 forwards on the bench. We need a utility to cover injuries in 1-7.

Marshall is the obvious choice, which would allow Reynolds to fill in at hooker when required. McIllwrick isn't an 80 minute player. It's not perfect but I think this is what will happen.

He also put grant and felise as front rowers. So i assume packer and matulino in reserves? Trialing positions fair enough. Naiqama is a great team player who has showed he has skill at wing and fullback through the world cup . However centre is not his position. Last year he had a lot of issues at centre. Granted it was alot to do with our structures and lazy inside defenders. However ifa centre isnt fast, then they shouod be big and strong with sufficent skill. He has skill but but lacks pace or size. Can you imagine a lawtence/naiqama pairing out there? opposition attack would be licking there lips..
