For the past few tears we have had most of our salary cap dominated by Farah, Moses, Brooks, Tedesco & Woods.

Tedesco's asking price is higher now, as is Moses.
Woods money should be stable from here. Brooks is not in a commanding position to ask for more and Farah is sorted.

All these players money is locked in for next year at least so the club need to really look at scenarios on who to replace in 2018.

As far as the rest of the team most wouldn't be on much coin but again it comes down to 'value for money'. Replace them with who? At what price?

Whoever has the final say on the salary cap management will be having a few headaches seeing as we are poor on TPAs

You forgot to mention Lawrence he has been on big dollars the last 2 years(signed the contract when he was a possible test centre)

Lawrence's contract was renegotiated this year and he will be on less dollars for the next couple of years.

Tim Simona is heinously underrated. He is a great centre and with a good winger and a solid defender next to him would look even better than he already does in our average side. Daniel Tupou would be a good target to play alongside him on the wing. Gordon will force him out of that Roosters side unless Dale Copley gets moved on instead. Either way I am sure they would be prepared to listen to offers for him.

In terms of forwards I would only be looking at players from the Storm, Sharks, Raiders and Roosters. They all have tough packs who play a good forwards style of game.

It would be hard to separate the brothers but Kenny Bromwich would be a good addition to the back row for the Tigers. He has been excellent in the second half of the year and having worked with Cronk knows how to run lines on the edge.

I would only be looking at players from the Storm, Sharks, Raiders and Roosters. They all have tough packs who play a good forwards style of game.

Jason Bukuya is another solid back rower in the Bodene Thompson mould that would do well for us. Mobile and can tackle. Running holes is all coaching so with the right attention to detail he would be a nice addition.

Kane Evans is a Leichhardt junior and would also fit nicely at the moment. He could replace Tim Grant who is just taking up salary cap space.

Paul Vaughan and Shaun Fensom are both struggling to get a look in at the Raiders. Fensom would be hard to prize away but would be a great leader of our defensive unit. PV is only 25 which is a great age to switch clubs and make a name for yourself. He is definitely exploring his options and we would be mad not to negotiate with the Raiders.

Some roughies to bring in - Leilani Latu, Luciano Leilua and the Saifiti brothers from the Knights. All young forwards with incredibly bright futures. Also Sam Tagatese from the Sharks - one of the most underrated front rowers in the game. Would give us some real grunt and mobility going forward.

In terms of improving our defence in the centres Joel Thompson and Tyrone Peachy should be our targets. Thompson could not be happy at St George and a Tyrone Peachy that starts every week could become a state representative if he keeps his house in order.

If we could sign three of any of these players listed and ensure they received the right mentoring in terms of coaching and professional conduct that would be a step in the right direction for the club.

On another note I can't quote my source but Mitch Moses will not stick around after 2017 as the Roosters are highly keen on him and we won't be able to compete.

Tiger Torch reported a while ago that Harry had agreed to come to the party with TPAs to help retain Moses, Brooks, Tedesco and Woods.

Our cap will be in pretty good shape (for the first time in years) when these goes come off contract, so I assume If Moses does go to Easts, it will be because he doesn't want to stay.

Penrith has had great success of late with Cartwright in at 5/8\. Perhaps re-visiting Sironen in that position is worth a look at. Moses to half, Brooks out. Or if Moses chases the coin at the Roosters, Brooks at half. But either way, this is only a possible scenario for 2018\. Does Sirro hang around in reggies next year? It would certainly seem very likely that the roster will be pretty much 'as is' for next year.

Tupou would be a vast improvement on Rankin. There is a definite possibility that he could be forced out of his side with the changes they are being tipped to make. Good target to kick at and his form has been a lot better in the back end of the season.

I don't see why Joel Thompson isn't a realistic target for a side looking to improve. At this point the Tigers and the Dragons are offering the same thing and considering both sides are in Sydney and we have a much sturdier platform to improve given right conditions in the next couple of years a provocative negotiator would definitely see Joel Thompson sit down to at least have a discussion.

Paul Vaughan is a first grader worthy of a weekly start. I would say that a player of his ability is not seeing the playing time befitting of his talent. You've indicated that he has started the last two weeks on account of an injury to a player who was bought in mid season. What do you think that indicates to him?

Maybe if someone at the Tigers pulled their finger out and spoke to Luciano Leilua we would be in the mix as well.

As for signed players - start grooming now. We need an aggressive recruitment drive across all departments of our club. There is nothing wrong with identifying targets of the right age and playing style and courting them and players like them with a view on joining us at the end of next season. Seeds of doubt will be the key to these players not signing new contracts and considering their options. We are in a position where we can offer genuine first graders and opportunity to start week in week out. If you're a footy player that is hard to turn down.

I am absolutely confident I could convince anyone to play for Balmain so I retain a little bit of hope that the person Balmain employs to do that job could also do the same thing.

Joel Thompson re-signed with the dragons only a couple of weeks ago.
I'd definitely like Vaughan, and there have been rumbles of him wanting out for more playing time, but as discussed on here previously he'll command big $$ which we don't really have for 2017.
Big no to Tupou. Yes he'd be better than Rankin, but given his origin past he'd get decent $$ as well, which he wouldn't be worth IMO.
There'll be a lot of contracted players released over the coming months as teams shake their rosters up - I imagine we'll let some go and pick some up, as will most clubs. e.g. I'd be very surprised if Sirro were still around come Rd 1 2017.
Hopefully we can pick up a couple of solid FG options, as we'll certainly need them if the club is at all serious about top 4 next year.

I do agree that we should absolutely be aggressively looking at the market for 2018.

On Luciano Leiluia, I've posted about him before he made his debut saying he would be a good player and wouldn't be hard to pick up. I personally know him and he is a very humble bloke, he has told me that Raiders, Dogs and Dragons have offered him and he would fancy the idea of going to Canberra to play with his brother BJ.

Even if we were to offer him a deal why would he chose us over Dogs and Raiders fair enough with the Dragons but still.

Btw his more likely to stay at Dragons then move, the "deal to dogs done" is full of shit.

OK, which player manager are you ? Topou has been a liability this year, Bromwich could be the next Blair, Fensom is solid, and the Sharks are looking for Tagatese replacements. Grant has been very good this year and his salary cap space is being subsidised by Souths. Some of the others are worth a look as average first graders on small contracts.
