better team won.
we played crap for the majority of the game.
goal line defense was crap- but refs got them there. so many vital decisions they got wrong. not to mention how slow our PTB were not coz sharks were wrestling but just lying all over the ruck.

fair reffing game and we win tbh- not coz we played better than them but coz we had more points in us than them.

again, better team won

I don't like to look for excuses, BUT

Farah's obstruction in the first half, as Gould said, Hodges got away with that in Origin last year and it won them the series

Lawrence scored a decent try and yet the ref says 'no try' (fancy that) and all of a sudden 6 points go begging

Then Stuart Mills knocked on just before their first try, but it wasn't called.

then again it wasn't the only factor in our loss.
 
i saw half a dozen forward passes.. the ball tedesco "knocked on" at the other end- same thing happened with cronulla at our end. ref says play on.

we had our fair share of "luck" as well with blair not getting penalised as well.

overalll a pathetic standard of refereeing. we lost the match by shooting ourselves in the foot but the refs gave us the gun and the bullet imo

i just though that since we're giving it to our players left right and centre, the worst performers on field should get their own thread as well
 
lets just be honest we love them when the call goes our way we hate them when it doesn't. But in saying that refs have been terrible this season with some of their calls…
 
The refs were bad but we still didn't deserve to win. I thought the score line at half time was very flattering to the sharks. A hell of a lot went their way tonight, but when you complete 7/19 sets in 40 minutes you bring that kind of misfortune on yourself.
 
A good team will not let you score more than 10 points a game, we let in 24 unanswered by half time. Few decision might have gone against us, but in the final wrap up 24 unanswered points was always hard to overcome. In saying all that the Sharks almost shit themselves, so I'm of the belief we lost to a crap team. Final thing is we have only won one away game this year, probably won't win another. But heck, the Refs are to blame.

yeah I know you make your own luck, but we didn't get much in the first half, a lucky bounce into Graham's hands for their first try, Carney gets a foot on it and then Farah trips over one of their other players and they score a 90m try when we were on the attack.

I agree that the Sharks won't go far in the comp if they keep this sort of form up, even when they get Gallen back
 
Cannot blame the refs for last night….......if you are down 24 nil at half time it's all on you not the whistle blower.

I thought the obstruction calls were fair enough.

If someone could explain the obstruction rule Id really appreciate it.

I thought they changed then rule so it wasnt black and white,and if a player was bumped that would have no impact on the play then it was play on.

Aside from several dubious home town harry calls that went against us,the no try to Lawrence had my jaw dropping.

If the guy with the ball goes behind a decoy player. obstruction.

Although, i was under the impression the decoy had to engage the defence? or maybe that was last year.

If they were the Sharks weren't advantaged anymore than us, it went both ways, The penalty where Marshall failed to find touch shouldn't have been a penalty in the first place. Had we been able to take advantage of that piece of luck theres a good chance Sharks supporters would be complaining this morning.
 
Plenty of luck went their way in the first half plus they got a few hometown decisions.
Add to that a few stupid errors we made which contributed to our demise.
Without the hometown decisions we would have been a better chance of taking it out - but those few lucky bounces they got really helped put the game out of reach.
