This guy deserves some honour on the eve of the 2014 season. Don't really know why but I just watched his highlights and decided he did.

I'd like to see the Tigers bring Taniela and Dwyer onto the field to get some rapturous applause to honour their contributions at some point this year. It's a damn tragedy that Tuiaki is fading away into history the way he is. At least there's still periodic mention of Dwyer and he's around the game in some way. Taniela is probably a furniture removalist for Harvey Norman or something now and entertaining his workmates with tales of past glory.

I want to personally thank Tank for the memories. Tank.
 
If he was still going I'm almost certain he would be the best winger in the NRL. Such a shame that he has become the forgotten man.

i saw the other day how long it has actually been since he played and couldnt believe it!

he was awesome. i loved having him on the wing for the tiges, and am one of many who are very sad injury kept him from an awesome career.
 
The man is probably my favorite wests tiger of all time. This is based on a fan day year's back when he really showed attention to my 2 kids. They still talk about that day.
 
A top Player & Person, Have plenty of memories of him running over Players & flashing those Gold Teeth, Not forgotten here.
 
Shame he didnt play last 2 rounds as I remember enough tries were scored down his wing for him to have retain top try scorer.

I can remember we signed Lote in 2009 while TNT was still playing.

Imagine what the WT of 2010 could've been with both of those Wingers in top form.
 
First saw Taniela in the Balmain NSW Cup side at LO. Payed on the right wing then. Scored twice in the first half. Stepped inside the full back each time. Very impressive. Remember the game against the Cowboys when Robbie got KOd. JT kept kicking to TNT so the chase could pin him in the corner. Every time Taniela made it to centre field so there were options both sides of the ruck. He phoned me once when asking members to resign. A true gentleman.

Probably my favourite wests tigers player of all time. I met him a few times, probably the scariest human I have ever seen, but was a mild mannered, softly spoken fella. He had a chat with my young bloke and seemed genuinely interested in what he had to say. Such a shame his career was cut short.

Just imagine he was still around, Dwyer too… that is two cornerstone players, building towards a prime of their careers who could be helping nurture the youngsters at present. Both instances gut wrenching. Sometimes you think that the players are getting paid too much, but the freak accidents/circumstances that cut these thoroughbreds down before their primes puts it all into perspective.

I dont want to say I feel sad for them, because many dream to achieve what they have in their short careers, but very few even achieve those hieghts.... I just cannot comprehend how either have come to terms with having their potential terminated in the blink of an eye.

I agree it is sad that TT could not continue. Is there any news on what he is doing these days? Is it a club role, as it seems Simon Dwyer is doing? Good luck to both of them.
 
Both TNT & Dwyer are awesome.
Love the 2009/10 lineup with those guys.

Would love a Q&A thread on here with both of them, so we can catch up with them and interact with them.

I made my WESTS TIGERS dream team of past favorites on RUGBY LEAGUE LIVE 2 on the Play Station.
Had to custom build TNT and Dwyer as they aren't on the game, but man… such good dudes and amazing players before they were shut down by injuries.

I remember that game Battler; I had seen him before but that game really stamped him as having a first grade future. The team has suffered some cruel injuries in the past few years, and TNT and Dwyer have been robbed of the careers they deserved.

One of the best players to ever play in a tigers jersey, he will never be forgotten and will be one of the top players to be in a Wests tigers team of the decade, if not team of the century !
I know he will be one of the top players in my Wests tigers team of my life
