I agree Taumalolo was best on field, he got the Cows going every set, esp when they looked spent.
 
I thought the Broncos deserved that win last night - but I'm very glad the Cowboys won.
Milford and Blair were the standouts on the field and should have had the CCM between them. Thurston was off with his timing last night - the number of passes he threw that went behind the man was amazing for a guy of his caliber. Can't criticize his effort last night though - the guy is a champion.

Only saw the second half and have a similar assessment from that period.

Seriously what a farce, Taumalolo was superb did the dirty work all night, Ethan Lowe was also brilliant has Bradley Clyde written all over him. Morgan constructed the play that will go down in folklore like the Benji and Pat Richards Combo Grand final Try.

For the Broncos Blair and Milford were superb.

The game wasn't over until the ref blows full time, how could he take a goal kick if the game was officially over.
It's the ref who blows full time
I'm glad they won. But you can't take five minutes to calm yourself down to take a kick.
Then again the NRL makes it up as it goes along most of the time.

Sooner or later we will all need to accept all these wonderful accolades of the past are now simply popularity contests, driven by those with agendas or bias.

The Churchill has held on for a long time, but it seems it has now been sold out for the 'script'.

Dally M's have always been a media tool, the Immortal Tag is also now popularised by media, so why not take the Churchill down the path?

Every year the powers to be sell off something of iconic value of this once great game… Who knows, in 5 years the NRL may be owned by the Japanese?
 
Should have been Granville, or Hunt in a losing side.

Picking Thurston, who directly contributed to a Broncos try was more sentimental than anything, much like Justin Hodges being out there for the Broncos.

Doesn't make it right, though.

It's sad….the Churchill was ...and I thought still is until last night for the best player in ground in the Grand Final....
 
I couldnt believe JT got it.

Granville by a mile.

Its the worst game Ive seen JT play this year…...looked really lost at times and threw so many nothing passes.
 
RLW rated four players peformances better than Thurston's; Milford, Granville, Tamou & Taumalolo.

Seems closer to the mark.
 
Milford was the best and probably had his name engraved on the medal until it went to extra time.

Granville only played about 40 minutes, and was abysmal in his second stint (passes behind players, on the ground, you couldn't give it to him). Scott, Tamou or Taumalolo were goers, possibly Morgan. For the Donkeys, Milford was outstanding, as was Parker.
 
Milford should have won and joined the small collection of winners on a losing team. A standout. Personally I thought Thurston was average for large parts of the game and played like someone not fully fit.

If I was Brisbane I would of wanted him to take longer, the longer he takes the more pressure that builds, and if he does miss your guys get a bit of breath back for the next step, just keep walking and stretching to keep the body moving.
 
Oh and Thurston did some magic stuff it's just that his team mates couldn't hold onto the pill. He would of had a few more try assists if they could. Should Thurston be disregarded because his teammates weren't as on song?
 
JT really went up another gear in the last 20 minutes or so, showed his class. No issues with him getting the Churchill medal.

Not sure your comment about butt hurt comes from Ink, as I don't care too much who won, as long as it wasn't the Broncos. So I was happy about that. I just don't think that the rules should be changed for one player, no matter who he is.
Maybe it's your own butt that is hurting, as it's certainly not mine. The Broncos got rolled :laughing:
