Pay his full contract this year , but then terminate the deal for next year from our end or agree to pay only a small fraction (200k max).

Our priority is to get as much cap space for next year as possible.

Somehow I doubt Reynolds agrees to that. He’ll be wanting his full contract value

I know, it would just depend how much JR wanted to play first grade? Could he be enticed by a 600k contract next year? We pay 200k and the dogs Pay 400k and he takes a 300k paycut? Still a pretty good deal.

If it was a case of Josh just wanting to go to another club on that alone, he’d be gone now, but money’s involved. he’s only got 1-2 years and he must feel a little selfish with the dollars he’s taken from the club for the output he’s given (next to nothing). He’s on more money than international players and he’s a reserve grader.

There is an argument that weve been dudded royally for 2 and a bit seasons now,at totally our own volition(well..Ivans),but..... we may just need JR at 6 in the next season and a half as we simply don't have many alternatives as an NRL half/five eight
Benjis our best attacking spark,but his defence has been an enormous liability in both games this year.There wont be a 2021 for him unless this picks up.And going on 35,hes gonna have injury issues Im sure
Walters has been discarded by the best 2 coaches in the game,and at 27 unlikely to be a revelation at 6..earnest kid but too slow tbh...his dad wasn't much quicker,but the game has moved on
Douhi is a candidate at 6 but is desperately needed at fullback,because we simply don't have any one else which we learnt yet again against Knights .CT shld never play at 1 again except in an emergency
So if any injury hiccups in the halves,JR is the ONLY go to,particularly ... as theres no CC to assess the young blokes coming thru
I personally detest this thought,but being pragmatic as Dogs will want us pick up most of the tab if he does move

He’s only played one game and he’s 24. Hardly an up and comer. If the raps were that big he’d either be playing first grade for the Storm, or another club would have snatched him away.

If you get 500 k for him it is worth it , if not the money we lose on the cap for 2021 just isn't worth the trouble ...at a minimum it has to be 50%

At least 500 k will get you a decent player

Still doubt it will happen , Reynolds might be worth 300 k maximum in my opinion
