Richards a liability

Surprised to see no threads about this bloke. Wants us to offer him a new multiple year contract? He has to be dreaming. Beyond this year he's finished. Besides his 'kicking' which is only sometimes effective - he will give the ball back to to opposition through some of his penalty kicks as a lot land very close to the sidelines. He has kicked a few out on the full off kickoffs this year and his goal conversions are not where they used to be. And this is stressing the 'good' part of his game. He can't catch the ball in the air under pressure which is a cardinal sin for a winger. Manages at least 1-2 knock ons a game and despite all this he is very slow, which is what our team doesn't need any more of. We carry too many plodders as is. All the tries he has scored this season have been simple put downs, anyone could have scored them. Am hoping we save the money and do not renew his contract. This bloke is long finished. May have been good in the past but is well past it. Anyone that cannot see this is bonkers.

Careful mate you'll have a lynch mob after you saying that!

Have a talk to any non tigers fan and they laugh at Richards, he is generally considered one of the bottom 5 wingers in the comp.

the one decent backline move we do all night puts him in space, again because he doesn't have the speed or power to beat a man one on one he kicks infield and it amounts to nothing. It's just a shame he didn't mis kick it off his shin so he could again prove how 'invaluable' he is.

If nofo and Simona are fit after the bye both and Lawrence should be dropped.

I don't know how anyone can justify this guy being in the team. I think he has been possibly the worst signing the club has had. We lost Koro to keep this guy.

there is no point in having him in the side apart from the odd occasion we need to kick a penalty goal from 50 out. and even then his goalkicking has been down at only 73% all year. he no longer does those towering kick restarts either. so why is he there exactly?

he had two opportunities to score and completely blew it. any other winger in the nrl would have scored those.

Lets not forget that his defence in at least two of the tries that Penrith scored was atrocious. He has a big impact on our team but the impact is not in our favour.

I wonder if the kick offs have been coached out of him in favour of the field position-based JT ball. You can tell by how he sets it on the tee that he's not even looking for it.

you are probably right. and if thats the case then JT truly has no idea. you have a guy that has one asset that no other player has and you tell him not to use it? :crazy

So do I get an apology? I thought I had no idea. Isn't Pat a brilliant, origin quality winger?

Those 2 opportunities to score could have changed the game. Any nsw cup or NYC winger score them. The game has passed you by Pat, please retire immediently.

Apparently he's going to the Catalans next year

He ain't leaving Australia again..his family is very settled in Camden and he has plenty of property around that area to draw income from…fact!

I thought it was obvious that he was a weak link this year. I can't believe that anyone even argued differently.

He has helped the team to at least two wins against parra and the Gold Coast .
Not a dissimilar signing to Jason Moodie a few years back.however he does deserve to bow out with dignity but maybe not in first grade.

But if hoeter is an indication of our outside back strength that's a real worry.

I could see where you were coming from for awhile and then you mentioned

Lawrence should be dropped.

I then could see that you haven't been watching any games in the past month.

No we didn't - for the 100th time - he wanted to go.

That't not how it works mate. Its pretty simple. You go and speak to him and state listen mate I really want you in the team and we really rate you. What do you want to stay ?

From that point on I bet he would've stayed.

I still think purchasing Richards and losing Koro is the worst trade I have seen in a long time.
