Robbie and Benji wanting to play on to 2020!!!!

If they are playing for $100k a season i dont have a problem with it. 2 legends around the club and Robbie to only play a handful of games early next season before being just a back up for Liddle. If they take any more of the cap, then no.

Who’d have thought during the saga of the “big 4” that we’d end up getting Benji back essentially on a 3 year contract. Him coming back has been so surreal. And for the most part has been pretty solid imo. I was glad to see the back of him in 2013, I deadset hated him at that point. I love him to death now. He came back a different person. Left a man child, came back a man.

But still makes rookie mistakes.

I didn’t say he was perfect.

@gallagher wanted to strangle him when he kicked early, wasting another 3 tackles and a potential penalty just before the halftime bell rang.

No, I know. It's just time though, he/ they are holding the team back I think.

Liddle has to start. We need to know if he can handle the softening up period, and how many quality minutes he is capable of.

Agree ..
In the overall scheme of things they both suck .

The only way this makes any sense is if they know they will spend most of their time in reserve grade. Yep they would be cheap and full of experience but they can't be the players we rely on. The club needs to start moving forward and part of that means giving younger players a chance. Marshall and Farah will do a job for us and be okay but they aren't going to turn us into a powerhouse at this stage of their careers. A job behind the scenes mentoring and supporting the new players is what is needed.

I actually think at the moment his impact off the bench is better. Very fast with fresh legs against tired opponents makes huge inroads into the opposition.

Exactly, we can't move forward as a club while we are looking back, time to retire for both of them

Speaking on Nine's Friday Knock-Off, Farah denied he had spoken to Maguire about returning next year and said "don't believe what you read in the papers". The Tigers' hooker revealed that he's leaning towards hanging up the boots at the end of the 2019 NRL season.

"To be honest I don't know where that came from I haven't spoken to the club about playing next year," Farah said.

"I'm still very undecided. Madge has floated the idea of me and Benji staying on. At the moment there's a lot of action around the club, no-one's too sure about the salary cap and our squad for next year.

"For me its about sitting back and waiting a month or two and I'll see how I feel. To be honest I might be leaning towards retiring at this stage but you never say never.

"I was probably leaning towards retiring last year but here I am. Ill have to wait and see what position the club's in they may not be in a position to offer me a contract."

The Tigers have planned for a future without Farah after signing teenage Broncos hooker Jake Simpkin.

Farah, Lawrence and Marshall for $300-400 grand per salary cap season seems like (Matterson and Thompson aside) the best investment we could make.

If it came down to Farah or liddle it’s liddle but the best tj8ng about Farah is he’s another half and is a great kicker...if he could teach that to liddle then damn it’s his pace lidddle would be fire

@happy_tiger you already know who we’re taking, 1 x benji Q. marshmallow
