Farah Will Be Right For Origin: Daley

Laurie Daley has no fears of NSW hooker Robbie Farah carrying mental baggage from his ongoing stand-off with Jason Taylor into next year's NSW Origin camp

Farah appears increasingly likely to remain at the Wests Tigers next NRL season, despite being asked to leave by the club.

The veteran rake was told it was best that he moved on and said he had been told by coach Taylor he would be relegated to reserve grade should he remain at Concord.

The writing appeared to be on the wall for Farah after the club signed Manly veteran Matt Ballin on a two-year deal last month.

Farah has always maintained that he wanted to remain a one-club player and his options appear to be closing fast.

Newcastle coach Nathan Brown has ruled out making a play for Farah's services and St George Illawarra are reportedly in talks with former Canberra and Sydney Roosters back-up rake Matt McIlwrick, which would leave little room on their roster for another hooker.

Even Taylor himself, who earlier this year repeatedly publicly encouraged Farah to find a new home, said he was now getting on with the job and working productively alongside the 31-year-old.

It appears the schism will continue well into 2016 and could prove an unwanted distraction for Farah ahead of the representative season.

Farah will be a key plank of Blues coach Daley's team in 2016 after they relinquished the Origin shield to Queensland this year, and will need him fully focused come Origin I at ANZ Stadium on June 1.

Daley said that after sitting down with Farah last week, he was confident he had his mind on the job and wouldn't be scarred by the saga.

"I know Robbie's training extremely hard and I'm pretty confident that will sort itself out," Daley said.

"He's an important member of our team and has been over the last couple of years. But that's for the Wests Tigers to work out that situation.
**"All reports are it's going fantastically well in the off-season and they're all training really well and getting on well."**

When Robbie's report card is due on 22 December, it is useful having the NSW Coach publicly state he is training hard.

Also "that will sort itself out" is loaded. Does Daley know something?

Where has this been 'reported'…?

With a proven NRL Coaches in Cleary and Toovey currently unemployed you would think management would have raised the bar...

I would prefer either of those before another rookie coach as well

Me to…

But ....Where has it been reported that the Wests Tigers have been in talks with the Walker Brothers to take over coaching early next season for a while now...?

I read an article online about it geo I can't remember where. Has also popped up Facebook and Twitter (I know) with people claiming to know its true and stuff like that. I think lurker or the mole also said something about it today

Youre getting Joel Reddy and the Walker brothers confused….not difficult to do, I know....

Nah I'm not confusing them lol. Mole responded to a tweet on Twitter confirming the club in the article was Tigers, I couldn't find it when I checked again this afternoon he may have deleted it. I read about it a few other times as well. Like I said I would rather Ivan Cleary if anyone but this is the current rumour

How would Daleys opinion be of any relevance to anybody in charge at the tigers?

Daley would make a wonderful coach of the WT's Gallagher

Look at the great things he has down with NSW SOO side , especially Game 3 2015

Will he bring James McManus? He'd be a marquee sighing for us.

:astonished: news flash Farah is sticking around because no one wants him !

I don't think so. He's had clubs interested but he won't leave. How could you negotiate with someone who is set on their decision lol

And what if the Walker brothers don't want him?

Then the Walker brothers could sing to Robbie " The Sun ain't gonna shine anymore" followed up by "Make it easy on yourself".

Keep looking for the conspiracies and way out theory's guys. So far Farah has done exactly what he said he would do , my bet is that he will continue to do exactly that.
( even though that gets a few people on here almost frantic).
But I would love to see the Walkers take over. They seem to know how to get the best out of the players that they have, unlike some so called coaches.

Walker Bros. said on GF day they were open to NRL offers if a club needed them.

They've picked up that comment - read this Forum and come up with Tigers.

Just need 2 Rookie coaches.

Imagine if they fail and we sack them. We'll be paying out 2 coaches at once. Its hilarious how they are the flavour of the month atm.

Why is it hilarious, , do you have some inside info that they would fail in first grade

We still have the Thunderdome if that doesn't work

It's no more speculative than those who claim it as fact that JT has lost the dressing room.

But he might be having a bit of a search for a couple of halves in the near future
