Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

Apparently Farah's manager asked for an immediate release and his final two years paid out in FULL…...I think both Farah and his manager are dreaming if they think this is going to happen.

The Tigers need to get something for him......you cannot pay someone nearly a $1M a year to play at a rival club. He can then then stay at the Tigers and play NSW Cup.....no chance of him playing SOO from NSW Cup, especially if he is on the reserves bench of NSW Cup.

I don't mind Farah being shown some goodwill here but asking for payment in full and an immediate release....well thats just RUDE and if its an example of how Farah has dealt with the Tigers over the past few years.....I can understand why they asked him to find another club to go to.

Very disappointing.

Farah is asking for $2 million, the club should pay him $1 million end of story. If Robbie is ruining the joint then surely it makes sense as against keeping him for 2 more years and paying $2million dollars + Ballins wage.. $1 million is a good investment as against the alternative.. What would you do? "Na mate keep the $2 mil because I'm a good bloke"?

I am sure you know what a contract is - just in case.

It is an agreement between two parties - the first party saying they will pay X amount to the second party and the second party saying they will provide services to the first party for that payment - they agree to do this for so many years.

This was what happened between Farah and WT.

Farah is entitled to his full payment whether he plays NRL or Z grade over the next two years. If he plays for another team then they have to pay part of that agreed salary.

There is no I won't make you pay for the second year etc. Do you think he is an idiot?

Very entertaining. Eddie does make some good points at least. Paws? ? He's just out there.

Our squad of course is overflowing with the best talent in the NRL, so minibus has decided we can do with out the SOO hooker.

"Sooky" has asked for a release.

"Minibus" (At least a capital please) as you call him suggested he was to be the hooker for round 1.

"Sooky" decided to go for more CASH, $$$$$$$ signs in the eyes I am afraid.

Does that mean when he goes all of "Sookies" supporters will go home and have a cry as well before not renewing their memberships.

Get off your "High Horse" mate he is going - that is it.

We do not need you putting crap on Taylor with every post you make.

IT IS BORING!!!!!!!

Are you busy passing the cap around to the remainder of the rent a groupies to stump up the cash for Robbie's payout? 2 million to watch him play for another team sounds like a plan.

Won't happen. They will not register him for so cheap with another club.

Asking for the full amount outright is greedy and unreasonable. Ayoub is an appalling negotiator who reflects terribly on his clients.

Paws knows that. He's just like Rothfield and weedler, he believes if you keep repeating total crap over and over some people will actually believe it.

Robbie did not want to go.

So why did he? This is a pretty big about face he's made.

If it's true, maybe he just doesn't believe anything that our grubby coach says.
I don't understand some of the crew that wanted him gone now saying that we should keep him in reserve grade, they wanted him out, as did our top knobs, so it looks like now that he might go, they are not so sure,
Never mind let's open up the wallet and pay him, at least we have the two super kids ….0r not! :roll

Best wishes to Robbie and I will always remember you as a player that wore his heart on his sleeve and never took a backward step on the field representing the Wests Tigers. Brave and courageous are two words I associate with you.

How the club resolves his contract is up to them. I just hope it does not end up in litigation and both parties separate amicably.

Good news for Farah

He deserves better then our mess of a club where he is the scape goat for everything that goes wrong with some fans.

Im sure Robbie will go and destroy his next club while we surge into the top 4 under Taylor :crazy

Good luck selling memberships next year.

Wake up Eddie!

With our pitiful number of members it wouldn't make any difference.

If someone takes him on at 60% of his value that's a massive win and heaps of coin to front load contracts or make a good signing.

U are dead set dreaming….

Some0ne will get him for 150k and we will foot the bill.

Haha, unlikely. The club are playing the game now and are not releasing him for what they don't believe is adequate remuneration from another club. They'd all but committed to having him on in 2016 so they'll hang on to him unless someone is prepared to pay a large part of the fare.

This is the worst move Farah could have made.

You've got to be kidding, Farah can't lose in this, no matter where he goes he will still be getting his money and his Soo spot, as well as a good chance of a premiership, if he goes to the Roosters

Actually, he won't be going anywhere unless they work out a reasonable separation figure.

Hard to understand anyone sticking up for Taylor over Farah in all of this.
Taylor has done, and is unlikely to do, anything for this club.
He has had no real success as a coach in the past yet there are plenty who are prepared to give him a free rein to do as he pleases, regardless of the cost or the results - including his poorly executed and inept handling of getting rid of one of our true champions (and life member).
As for me , ever since I was a kid I have supported the team and its players - be they champion teams or those running near the bottom, or champion players or those who don't quite make it.
Can't ever remember following the team because of the coach or cheering for one as he ran on the field.

Not sure I agree ck, I have tried to keep a very opened mind on this and I always come back to the fact that there must be someone really negative with him behind the scenes for WT to let him walk and give up so many $$$ to let him go. Then take a step back and look how it has played out…Houston at the knights, Ballin at the Sea Eagles, Lawrence...they have all been in a similar position and have handled it differently. In Lawrence's case he has been successful in renegotiating his contract and staying.

And this is where I see the problem as being. Robbie would much rather play this out in the press. He has been around long enough to know how it works, how to play the media, and he is doing it well. I dont think the current timing is a coincidence either.

He is one player and he is not worth the figure he is being paid. He could have tried to renegotiate it over three years, tried to renegotiate one yer and then take a lucrative offer in the UK, but he didn't as he preferred to play it out in the media. Maybe that is a measure of the man?

Why should he renogotiate anything. He signed on and has fulfilled his obligations.
He owes this train wreck of a club nothing.
He will get what his contract, and possibly something that's not possible here, a Premiership
Good luck to him

Yep…I guess in the end it's all about Farah...

Tigers are doing dirty tactics as they hoped he would get desperate and leave without having to pay a big chunk of his fee. They got Ballin so that they can say 'its performance reasons' why they didn't pick him, as it would never fly with cherrington. I hope he burns them for those tactics and gets a shit load of money. Tigers are such a joke. I suggest you guys get into NBA or something, a sport ran professionally. so over it! I laugh now

So Ayoub has folded… This now puts the club in a very strong position moving forward.

Hopefully this is over quickly so the fans can get back to admiring Robbie as the Club Legend he is!

Couldnt agree more.. Its time Everyone moves on.. I read alot of posts on here saying they will not support or renew their membership, all i can say is one player(ledgend) doesn't make a club, this stuff happens all the time. ie Wayne Rooney leaving everton for United, Luis figo leaving Barca for Madrid, the list goes on but all clubs rebuild and reinvent them selves on and off the field over time and i guess thats whats happening now.. I will miss Robbie but i am happy this saga will end and even if we get $0 for Robbie the damage has been done, we cant risk it infecting the young generation.

Infect them with what ????

You either support the club or you support the player ..I see an increase in Rooster members numbers as the fair weather and club trashing supporters the Weststigers have at the moment will flow to the Roosters ..see you later .

Possibly ability, that what some of them lack.

To JT's rent a crowd, this must be hard for you to acknowledge and accept .

"It's believed Farah is viewed by the Roosters as being a valuable addition to the squad and wouldn't be bumping Friend out of his current role."

I'm sure you must be doing it hard enough to worry about what others think of another club's view of his value. I believe its called scraping the bottom of the barrel. You're losing the battle, yet still trying desperately to come off as you're in a position of strength. Given how staunch you've been, you're not.

Isn't that similar to when you and others were gloating over what some half brains from the Kennel were saying about Farah??

Wooden spoon here we come!

Wake up Mate!

The problem is now solved - it has GONE!!!!

Top 8 here we come.

Delusion is such a great thing!

I just hope this ends in us picking up a genuine first grader as a result of Robbie leaving. It won't be a superstar but as long as it's someone who is a walk up start to our top 17 just to add a bit of strength.
