Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

I think now this will be the end for Robbie I don't know who is right or wrong but no club will put up with this, and I think it is best for both parties that Robbie should go if he stays which is his right the problem for next season will only get worse.robbie you have been a great tiger and I wish you good luck but it is time to go

lol you're the one saying it's farah vs taylor.

you think it's all taylor making these calls?

admittedly, idk how stuff like this works though so why dont you enlighten me?

When power plays in any organisation take place the warfare is dirty. Do you think the billionaires of the world got to where they are because they are nice people?

Taylor sold a mentality of how he would turn the club around. Version 1 hasnt worked so he used a different tact to buy himself time. Farah was outplayed on a management level in the boardroom. His recourse is to use emotion through the media. Its all a game.

I would suggest the end result will be Taylor will get the squad he asked for (young talent with malleable minds) however it will be without the spare cash to buy experienced talent and Farah will get a huge payday with a spot on a better roster, however his dream of being a one club player will be over.

Had this been handled better they both would have got what they wanted with a lessened negative impact to their respective goals.

the fact that the WT have to make a 'power play' in the first place speaks volumes about farah anyway.

WT handled it in a good way WITH THE MEDIA.. they said "farah is able to look at other clubs" and they even kept it out of the media.

same things have happened to gidley, ballin, petro and countless others but it hasn't been played out in the media like this.

It's the Robbie way, he has always used the media as a last resort to get his own way.

Issue is the club has had enough and won't be putting up with it.

Can't wait to see the cancer finally be removed from the ranks.

Classy post.
Calling a club legend a cancer.
I look forward to reading your posts next year calling Brooks a coward or Moses braindead or Tedesco selfish. People like you always need a scapegoat…can you let us in on who it will be please?

He is a legend but it doesn't mean we should ignore what he has done both on and off the park over the years.

It's no secret what he has done in getting what he wants rather than what the club and other players want.

As to the other crap in your post, I don't look for scapegoats, most of this year I have been defending the kids.

Robbie isn't a scapegoat he is getting his just rewards for past deeds in which he used for getting his own way. Enough is enough if we want a professional club our captain needs to act professionally as well instead of a spoilt little brat who is chucking his toys out of the cot because he didn't get his own way

According to you, what is "his own way"?
I see a guy who followed orders of coaching staff, accepted a pay cut to alleviate cap strain under the priviso he would be reimbursed at a later date, was prepared to relinquish the captaincy he so coverted, and even talked about trying to find middle ground by leaving his contract a year early. He has been told to move on at a stage of the year when most squads have finalised their 2016 rosters despite the fact he is legally contracted for 2 more years.

He didnt start this so please enlighten me…how is he throwing a tanty to get his own way?

I get how it looks, don't dispute any of that. I get why people are frustrated.

What we are seeing is only 1 side of the story.

It's clear we have a leadership team that are appointed who want to be accountable for their roles rather than be influenced and undermined by someone who doesn't have that accountability. Something which hasn't been allowed previously (outside of Sheens in the early years).

We have a refreshed board with no Balmain Reps and all of a sudden Robbie can't be heard and is being moved on. They are also not making media comments to ensure due diligence is covered accordingly which has been rare for our club.

We gain nothing for next session $$$ wise to go and buy a top line player if we let Robbie go now, we gain little on the park except for youth and speed potentially with Cherry, we do gain respect from the change room for the coaching staff and board however to drive the right culture amongst other things. The decision would never have been made lightly and the club has more to lose than what Robbie does for the short term. Businesses never let key figures go unless there is something drastically wrong with the dynamics with that resource especially one who is of Robbie's quality. It's very clear there is another side to this story than the one Robbie is telling.

It is all Taylor - the board have all ready stated this is the coaching staffs decision and seeing Taylor is responsible for the coaching staff it is coming from TAYLOR. The reason why Robbie wants a meeting with the board - to force Taylor to state reason for axing him.

According to the leak from the board in the last couple of days (from the alleged Partner of Marina Go it wasn't the board but the Coach.
Isn't it good that we are the only board in the NRL who leaks info through board members partners

Last time I checked, putting a post on Facebook under your own name doesn't qualify as a leak.

If only this could be over already, club may have trouble selling memberships next season .

If club was relying on memberships the club would of been in trouble years ago. Bandwagon fans

Still would be nice to do well in membership department.

Yeh true but we will have to start winning games before that happens.

Wow…using Weidler now Robbie??
Desperate times

Couldn't agree more, Ink. He is the equivalent of Solicitor Chris Murphy in the legal field.

Either Robbie is desperate and his camp are using Wiedler for cheap points, or they have let him know a fair bit of stuff that should be in confidence with the club.

Either way, not sensible in my opinion.

I started off shocked and dismayed and not comprehending the Farah thing. The longer this goes and the more desperate he becomes, the more I wish he would pack his bags and just go and leave us to our peril, whatever that may be.

Go's partner seemed to join a WTs Facebook fan pages… Decided to corrct a fans statement

Nothing we didnt already know really…mainly that the farah decision was the coaching staff and not the boards, who have given JT complete authority on these issues

I think he was responding to someone who suggested the board were paid, he clarified they werent paid, as it was only his words its hard to gauge the context.

Still....he shouldnt be commenting at all I think

Its in this thread somewhere the last few pages
