For mine it comes down to if Jason Taylor is a good coach. All the evidence I have seen says he isn't. He took the job knowing Robbie had three years to go on his contract and now he can't work with him. Said it before, will be far far cheaper to punt JT than pay Robbie to play for another NRL side. One has to go and in my opinion it should be JT.

Taylor was at norths in 94\. He left the magpies in 93\. Ryan got sacked by Wests in 94\. I doubt very much that while taylor was at norths he got wests to sack Ryan.

True, but he certainly kicked up a stink when he was dropped and was thought by many sources to have undermined Ryan in 93\. I have an old RLW here, with the front cover saying "Magpies At War". Here's a quote from Taylor in it.

"The press came up with some interesting reasons why I wanted to leave, but I prefer to keep most of them to myself because they have been pretty well resolved. One reason, however, was I thought our style of play was too restrictive, too structured and by the end of the year, very predictable. I wasn't the only player to think that way."

Does that sound familiar?

Perhaps look up what occurred between Warren Ryan and Steve Mortimer to get some further context.

JT was 21 years old and in his second year of first grade when he was benched by Warren Ryan (1992), which was when his reported falling-out with Ryan started. It's hard to believe a rookie half back could wield so much power at a club, especially when they had a number of important senior players there like Gillespie; Farrar and Langmack.

No, the proposition that JT was instrumental in getting Warren Ryan sacked (a full 12 months after he left the Magpies) is a bit too far fetched for me.

We got our quotes and we chose our builder, but given we know very little about building I guess we will have to wait until the frame is up and roof is on before we will really know if the quality of our house is as good as we hoped it would be.

I'd never hire a builder who hasn't even built a house that has stayed up.

The reference to Mortimer was to highlight that Taylor was not the first halfback to fall foul of Warren Ryan. Mortimer had a huge falling out with Ryan, in fact, Ryan got on the wrong side of a few at Canterbury and was one of the reasons he left to join Balmain.

The antique furniture has seen better days and has a major white ant infestation that must be isolated.

At opposite ends of their respective careers as well, with Ryan wanting to play Alchin over the ageing Mortimer. Didnt walk around the ground like Galloway and Richards did tonight, and in the press conference answered questions about what 'we" need to do as a team. I wouldnt be so sure yet.
