Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

I think the sooner fans treat the game as the business it is the better well all be.
Very little emotion left in it all for me… Been that way for a while now.

Funny how we've become so competitive on here on this issue.... I guess that's only natural when our team has shown only minimal competetiveness over the past four years.

I just hope EVERYONE at the club is now on the same page

That's the thing insaneink, as fan I don't want to treat it like a business, I'm currently traveling overseas from country to country knee deep in business, the last thing I want is for my 'passion' (for lack of a better word) to be a business too. Now don't for a minute think I'm nieve, but this last year has been too much, why can't they manage things in house like professionals and let the fans just enjoy the footy. The reason, the tigers have no idea how to run an organization that is suppose to be for entertainment. This is not entertainment, this is politics, and I hate politics. So while sitting here in another country wanting to read about the footy next year, I get all this crap.

I noticed I had 4 messages from the tigers asking to re new my membership. Not while its zero fun! , I don't care about losing, been following them for 40 years so it's not s new concept, but this is!!!

You've got to be kidding, Farah can't lose in this, no matter where he goes he will still be getting his money and his Soo spot, as well as a good chance of a premiership, if he goes to the Roosters

Yep…I guess in the end it's all about Farah...

Yep you're right, after all he's the person that the club is trying to shaft, and it's up to them to ( along with the club that's signs him) to make sure he gets the money that is owed to him,
I seem to remember you saying often that he will get his money,
Now that he may actually go, we may see how ethical they really are.

What are you on about.

Farah is going to get all he is owed. THAT IS A GIVEN,

WT have stated that countless times.

It is where the money is coming from that is the negotiation.
WT are not going to pay him right out to play for somebody else. If another team want him (as bandied around Roosters or Dragons) then they will have to kick the tin. As he is a SOO player so there is a minimum figure (maybe $400,000), then WT would pay $550,000 for each of the two years.

Yo are bringing up ethics when there is no need. He will get his full payment.

However one cannot be down on WT for trying to negotiate to get the most money from another club than they can.

OR do you think they should pay all the contract money for him to play for the Roosters and Dragons?

Apart from the Farah 2016 fans, no one wants to pay him out to go elsewhere for no return - no benefit to us. If no agreement is reached then we might as well have him run around in Reggies. He would have just as much chance to make the team as anyone else. I am sure there would be no prejudice.

This is a business GCT not a benevolent society.

Tell me where I said that they wouldn't pay him ????
What I said was its his managers jodb to see that they do.
If you trust football clubs to always do the right thing by players, then you are nieve , (and I don't think that you are)

The way ayoub and Farah carry on like spoiled brats and continue to play this through the media makes me sick.

Good riddance.

I am only a bush lawyer, but I think that if RF has asked for a release,he is not fulfilling the terms of his current contract which are to play for the WestTigers in 2016, 2017, so there is much negotation to come, and Farahs management blinked first.

The club repeatedly told him that he was free to negotiate with other clubs( (both Pascoe and Taylor) even after he was told that he'd be considered for first grade.
He is within his rights

I knew once Ballin was signed that it was curtains for Farah … What a shame another of our favourite sons go out this way. Anyway, it's only about money now.
Looks like another long season ahead in 2016 .... I renewed my membership ... Must be a glutton for punishment.

My thoughts also knuckles about Farah, hate hearing it happen and about to relise it aswell. But life goes on… if I lived in Sydney I would renew alas I'm not. I do see a glimmer of hope ahead :sign:

What is this unhealthy fixation with boys clubs GNR? Do you think teamwork or friendship ends when the whistle blows?

The boys club is partly the reason why the club finds itself in its current predicament. The sooner Farah is gone the better. Only the niaive and ignorant fail to see this.

Hang on a sec,

I've missed the last 10 pages or so, so forgive me if it's been answered, however If Robbie is asking for release from his contract, doesn't that mean we don't owe him a single cent over the next couple of years?

Doesn't that also free up like a million bucks a year over the next 2 years?

Wouldn't that be the best news ever?

What have I missed here?

I totally understand… And agree with you. I'm sure love, passion and entertainment are all things which brought us all here initially... Tribalism was it for me.
The front office... The politics... The boards and hierarchy have never interested me either... It's just the players and the game on the field for 80 minutes that has been my desire... But all too often now its the off field stuff is all we get... I get no entertainment from this... But it seems that's all this club is good at these days.

Oh that's hilarious. Cake and eat it?

And people wonder why I call him Cancer.

Eating away at the club.

1\. On the turps at the moment
2\. Other tigers fans around
3\. RF bugger off NOW!
4\. Best thing for the club!
5\. Look to the future!

Could that be why JT said a few days ago that Robbie figured into the clubs plans? If they're giving the impression they see him in their plans next yr then wouldn't Farah voluntary asking for a release absolve the club from any financial responsibility? Very crafty by JT and the club if true.

Guys, it means a release from his contract which will involved agreed compensation. This could be cash or cap space or both. Judging by the way his twit manager is playing this, the compensation is low and the Tigers are going to have to deny the release.

The general public won't get this and it will look like the Tigers are incompetent. But in no way should they let him go cheap.

Was my initial thought too… It's just media twisting things... Negotiations begin now
