I can't understand people who bag Farah and say he is a sook, having a cry. I'd love to see any forum members make 50 tackles a week on professional massive units, then cop sh*t in the press, and see how they go.
The irony is that sooo many forum members fire up at each other, even when they are next to anonymous. In other words, they get upset about what nobodies write on a forum most people in the world don't read or even know exists. And these same people think it is shameful for someone to be upset or thrown off when negative things are leaked/written about them in public.
As a professional, public figure he should not be letting criticism get to him…he shouldnt take it on board but he does and this is where he fails, as a professional sportsman and as a (C)
It's so easy to say that ink, just type it out on the internet. Have a look at all the issues all the different footballers have had in public and tell me again that he should never let criticism get to him, that somehow being famous makes it easier.
Because what did Farah actually do wrong? He dodged some press, his form dropped a little (from elite to still near best player in team). He got drawn into a media frenzy, but that isn't his fault. He had a private conversation that was made public - again not his fault.
It's not easy to navigate the media storm, if you go quiet people say you should make statements and stand up for yourself. If you make statements, people say you should shut your mouth. You can never tell exactly how it will play out.
For example, people criticise Mayer for being on twitter too much, then criticise him for going quiet. Benji also copped criticism for making statements and not letting his footy do the talking.
It's easy for the Cameron Smith's of this world to avoid negative press about leadership and faith in coach when his team comes Top 8 every year and his rep sides win most matches.
Show me when Farah has done something wrong: broken the law, made inappropriate comments, harassed a woman, sworn in public.
So easy to keep criticising when the thing is done and dusted, in the past. It's footy, everyone gets more than one chance to atone.
