The amount of crap Robbie has copped has been shameful…..the bloke is a human being, and a passionate one at that.....

On behalf of me and only myself I would like to thank Robbie for his amazing loyalty, passion and love for the tigers which i also share.

i cant wait to watch him carve up...like he has been doing for us for the last ten years.

Well said simontiger. I couldn't have phrased it better. Awsome player and even more importantly a good man of field too. Love him!

Robbie Robbie he's our man
if he can't do no one can.

My little tribute to Robin Williams.

Hah yeh cause thats really how it was eh eddie…an interesting twist youve given it.

Na

i think the Farah haters have given far more "interesting" twists.

Basically crucifying our best player. That he runs the club.

Well if he does run the club a lot of the things that are happening now the fans are very happy about (staff clear out, taylor appointment, new board etc)

SO go figure again.

But they want it both ways. so lets keep crucifying him.

**I can't understand people who bag Farah and say he is a sook, having a cry. I'd love to see any forum members make 50 tackles a week on professional massive units, then cop sh*t in the press, and see how they go.**

The irony is that sooo many forum members fire up at each other, even when they are next to anonymous. In other words, they get upset about what nobodies write on a forum most people in the world don't read or even know exists. And these same people think it is shameful for someone to be upset or thrown off when negative things are leaked/written about them in public.

what does that have to do with anything? i couldnt play better than braith anasta, soward or jacob miller. doesnt mean that i can't criticise their playing ability

Fans want him to stay out of the media

Yet they crucify him for ducking press during the year

Go figure.

He's supposed to use some judgment on when to talk and when not to stay quiet. Surely its not that hard for the devine one.

So now we are talking about his influence?
I thought it was about him and the media.
OK.

So people that were critical of him for changing his tune about what he said to tallis about Potter, and for him running across the field to avoid the media, or for not wanting to play when our season was on the line….theyre farah haters eh? :unamused:

Hes not god...hes not perfect...but this place is so precious at time god help you if your critical of anything to do with the club

As a professional, public figure he should not be letting criticism get to him…he shouldnt take it on board but he does and this is where he fails, as a professional sportsman and as a (C)

It's so easy to say that ink, just type it out on the internet. Have a look at all the issues all the different footballers have had in public and tell me again that he should never let criticism get to him, that somehow being famous makes it easier.

Because what did Farah actually do wrong? He dodged some press, his form dropped a little (from elite to still near best player in team). He got drawn into a media frenzy, but that isn't his fault. He had a private conversation that was made public - again not his fault.

It's not easy to navigate the media storm, if you go quiet people say you should make statements and stand up for yourself. If you make statements, people say you should shut your mouth. You can never tell exactly how it will play out.

For example, people criticise Mayer for being on twitter too much, then criticise him for going quiet. Benji also copped criticism for making statements and not letting his footy do the talking.

It's easy for the Cameron Smith's of this world to avoid negative press about leadership and faith in coach when his team comes Top 8 every year and his rep sides win most matches.

Show me when Farah has done something wrong: broken the law, made inappropriate comments, harassed a woman, sworn in public.

So easy to keep criticising when the thing is done and dusted, in the past. It's footy, everyone gets more than one chance to atone.

It seems Taylor needs to work on Farah's glass jaw. The speed on which he went to the canvas and the time it took him to get back up is embarrassing.

Cheap shot with no validity Hope it made your day.

Its reality mate. I nice puff piece in the paper wont fix the issue.

What is the issue?

Well said Ink.

Farah's behaviour at the end of this season speaks volumes about his character, but that doesn't preclude him from being the team captain on the field. We wouldn't want Mother Theresa directing our troops and he knows the game.
His media appearances are another matter. His approach to the media attention, that he attracted to the team, fed the frenzy. His emotions can go wherever, as long as he learns to keep them out of the media. Good media training will teach him some pretty simple rules to guide his approach to the media including when to say what. He needs it. I trust that the new board of professionals will recognise that, and act sooner than later if he is to continue as captain.

People criticise Mayer when he disappears from his prolific tweeting when the cr@p hits the fan. People bag Farah when he waits and waits and waits to offer his support to a coach under siege by the media due to Farahs lack of public support. People bag Benji when he demands enormous sums of money that he's simply not worth which then restricts the club from paying good money to others equally deserving. Cameron Smiths team is consistantly in the top 8 due to Cameron being a very slick operator in front of the camera as well as when he's not. As a captain, he's miles ahead of Farah. As a player, I rate Farah on par. But really….as a captain and leader, a Cameron Smith he is not.

I certainly don't consider myself, nor many others on here to be "haters". More so, simply WT supporters.

The new board and their manager (CEO) are now in charge, with Farah and his backers having lost considerable influence and/or been moved on. For mine, no more backstabbing of the coach or clandestine meetings with sponsors this year, else there will be no C next to his name and then shown an open door.

I see the ball as still in Robbie's hands, but it is no longer his ball and up to him how he uses it. Love him as a player, so I hope he just tucks it under his arm and gets on with it.

Farah did do a few things wrong. First, he flatly denied the conversation with Tallis ever happened, then he went on TFS to give a 'tell all'.

After Gordon made those remarks, in hindsight it was very easy to get out of it
1\. I said it 18 months ago but I was wrong
2\. I support mick 100% now.

If he had said this when he was first asked- most of the drama wouldn't have happened. As a captain of his club, VC of his state and a professional athlete, you expect that of him.

Robbie just needs to let his footy do the talking next year and we willbe fine

If he was just a team member I would agree. But, he is the captain. And I am not sure how others in the squad feel about that. His footy should always have "done the talking". Unfortunately he let his mouth and his ego get in the way. Do players just simply forget that and forgive it? You can't mandate that. I would replace him as captain for 2015.
