Robbie's Origin career now over

Ennis has won most of his head to head contests with Farah and tonight was a knock out.

Robbie seems to be in career worst form.

Have any of you ever played the game? :bash

Fair dinkum, a hooker does not organise the ruck, its the half backs job. With our piss poor number 7's the forwards lack direction, thus Farrah is left at the ruck with nothing on offer. The last 20 minutes clearly showed that when Farrah moved to 7 and miller to 9, Robbie created direction and opportunities within minutes.

Current hookers who play well with a true number 7,

Michael Ennis and Trent Hodkinson
Cameron Smith and Cooper Cronk
Aaron Payne and J. Thurston
Dean Young and Ben Hornby
Cameron Smith and J. Thurston (QLD)

Past Successes
Robbie Farrah and Scott Prince
Danny Buderus and Andrew Johns
Walters and Langer
etc etc etc

dont know where people are getting the idea that farah has been poor for the past 18mths.

he was dally m hooker of the year last year and came second in overall standings for actual dally m so the poor form story thats been going on or ages is false.

ennis has how many mom performances? highly likely a lot less than farah.

at the end of the day its the battles against the people that count which prove the stats and robbie is a much better player against smith than ennis ever will be.

Hes origin career was over before tonight…..they not going to pick him

Depends on who is the coach in my opinion. There is a big rumor that Stuart has signed with the Bulldogs for next year and will not be NSW coach

In that case the new NSW coach will make his choices. For mine even although Farah has not been at his best this year the majority of coaches would pick him as NSW hooker.

I for one still think Robbie may have a long Origin career, at his best he is truly capable of starring at that level.

Kicking for touch backwards to make some room for a set play is OK but both times he did it all that happened was a few measly hit ups to get back to the spot where the penalty was given in the first place! I just wish Farrah would play as big as his ego.

Farah isn't playing well enough to warrant a NSW call up, but then again, either is Ennis but he still gets picked. Difference is Ennis is smarter and uses the media to his advantage where Robbie doesnt. I feel Robbie will never play SOO again.

There is some truth in this.

I've been really critical of Robbie and I think its completely fair but Ennis isn't exactly looking any better than Robbie. I suppose Ennis makes a lot less mistakes and takes less poor options.

Farah hasn't played well enough to deserve a NSW spot. Yet he no doubt is trying too hard to outplay everyone. He would be better off doing his job and staying out of first receiver.

It was only 8 weeks ago that Robbie might have been gone for the season with a serious groin injury. My opinion was at the the time he should have had the job done, spent 6 weeks out and come back. Many of you seem to forget that he is playing with a pretty bad injury. It didn't just disappear you know.

On top of probably playing at 60% because of injury, he has to:

* Cover for Lui who is a serious liability. In other words, no half to run with him.
* He has to allow room and cover for Benji to go crazy and do some wacky things.
* He has general disharmony and other issues amongst some of his forwards not putting in together, on a regular basis because of ongoing contract problems such as Fifita, Gibbs, Fulton, and now Heighington.
* He is leading a team without Chris Lawrence, Lote, Todd Payten and others.
* He has another playmaker in Moltzen coming back from serious injury and lacking confidence in a big way.

…..and some of you want him to retire, or stop being selfish, or go play at his restaurant full time? One wanders what institution you escaped from.

And as for origin, whilst ever Ricky Stuart, Daley, Bozo, Andrew Johns and some others are around, some things will never change for NSW. Dally M best hooker points and runners up awards clearly mean nothing. Ennis is the 'nicest guy off the field' apparently, so the fact he can't play doesn't come into it. Ennis had a good game against the Tigers. Man of the Match, NSW Hooker or star....I think not. He never took control of the game like a good player should have.

Andrew johns is a token and daley is a puppet to fulton.Bozo runs the show and has for some time which is why manly and roosters will always get selected before wests players. How minichiello got fullback ahead of hane is a joke.

Posters have very poor memories especially after losses.

With the quick PTB in origin and a very mobile forward pack.
Farah can do more damage than Gidley and Ennis combined. Thats just my opinion though.

sorry to say, but last nights performance from robbie was well below par, with benji out, and as captain, he needed to lift his side and lead by example, especially against ennis, for any hope of an origin call up. maybe the groin injury is behind the form slump. if so cant be too critical.

good post. let's not bag out our captain when half the team is out and the forwards aren't laying the platform which hookers need…

Our forwards have been great. Its not the forwards problem at all.

He just needs a change in attitude. He is getting selfish and overplays his hand, not to mention how he deals with the refs & media.

I just think robbie needs a chill pill. Hopefully the latest media scrutiny about his 'whinging' will give him some self reflection.

…. although I do in part blame 'negativity sheensy' for a lot of the teams attitude.

I really think his role in the team needs to be completely refreshed. I think we need a solid and definate 6,7,9 for Farah to be at full potential.
