Inevitable. Most domestic violence stuff ends like this as the woman realises her husband will lose his job etc….............and, especially when there are kids involved, no woman wants their kids to go from having a dad with a job and supporting them to having a dad in jail etc.

That is true, but given the charges and with a child involved, I think magistrates and judges try to avoid jail. They would look to something like weekend detention or community service so the perpetrator can earn a living and support the child.

Playing in NQ without permission, particularly in a nothing competition, is just unforgivable. This fellow is being paid handsomely and has had God knows how many resources thrown at him by the Tigers, on and off the field. There comes a time when further investment in such players is bad business. You persist with troubled individuals like this and you run the risk of alienating other members of the playing group. Tearing up his contract is a 'no brainer'. Has to go the way of Laurie and Fifita

either way charges dropped or not who would want him at the club? what other club would want him after a second round of assaults? this isnt a carney situation where he's a stupid drunk, domestic violence is another level imo.

If the charges are dropped or similar, I reckon you might find Lui "allowed" to go back home to NQ or similar. I have no solid evidence or reason for this but I can see it as an honourable way out for all parties and to be honest some of the positioning by Humphries and the club to me point to this.

With everything he is doing, or alleged to have done at the moment, a sceptical person might suggest he is trying to find a way out of his contract to go elsewhere…..

He made it easy for the club with the knockout comp thing. If they were concerned they couldn't sack him legally if he was found not guilty, they sure can sack him now because he would have broken contractual obligations to the club. No "tough position" anymore.

He will be sacked by the end of the week and I have a feeling the club will request that the NRL de-register him for at least a season.

I don't care if the charges are dropped. Benefit of the doubt once. Twice, is goodbye. We MUST have a no d/heads policy in the club.

My sons love the Tigers and I want them to grow into responsible young men who respect women. How do I explain the outcome to them if the Tigers keep him on????

Some things are more important than football. Setting a zero tolerance example for domestic violence is one such thing.

Who knows what he is thinking? He couldnt be thinking to much if these are actions after having a few drinks. Maybe he was looking at going home last year. Why did she drop the charges last year? And rumours today confirmed what I was thinking all along.

And you know what? If any player wants out of the Tigers so badly as to carry on like this, GET RID OF HIM ANYWAY!

No team would want him after doing this, at least not straight away. He would need a year or two off to "become a stronger man and reflect" etc.

It doesn't make sense to fake this in order to get out of a contract these days. Just look across the NRL and see quite often contracts aren't worth the paper they are written on half the time anyways.
