all i know is that if shayne hayne did his job and penalised smith none of this probably would have happened.i think i'll blame being screwed out of the 2010 title plus this all on shayne hayne.

yeah i thought that too but sooner or later bad luck comes your way so it was only delaying it.best we find this out asap so the kid and his wife can get some help and hopefuly he is reformed.

That's if he's guilty. Things might not be as they appear. Let the courts determine what happened.

yeah i think the charges laid can make it sound worse like aggravated robbery meant he had his wifes mobile.she had facial injuries could be a broken jaw or it could be a superficial injury that was purely accidental while they were fighting over a phone or something.

We are all innocent until proven guilty the young man has his date at court his sporting endevours are a very small thought at this stage with where he could end up. I have zero tolorance for voilence against women so the wait would probable be six months at least if it goes futher oh dear the dreaded booze .

not a good start to the offseason but in my eyes he is innocent until proven guilty. i dont believe anything that comes from the telecrap. i hope he is innocent. i think he has alot of potential in the game. we would also need to look for another halfback for depth.

News Ltd make their money out of citizens like you.

Please explain to me how you came to that conclusion from my above statement.

Yeah they certainly didn't miss him. 2 charges apparently relate to events dating back to May. I do find it odd they charged with some of those things so quickly although the initial charges are often not the final charge sheet that goes to court. We'll see anyway.

There's a hell of a lot of speculation flying around about this.

As far as I am concerned, at this very point in time Robbie's innocent. We really shouldnt be commenting until he has had his day in court and the FACTS surface.

Farah hailed for role in Lui saga
Josh Massoud From: The Daily Telegraph September 30, 2010 12:01AM

TIGERS skipper Robbie Farah has been praised for his handling of the Robert Lui drama that's left a sour aftertaste on an otherwise positive season at Concord.

We can reveal Farah not only convinced Lui to hand himself in to police, but also escorted the young half to Campsie police station late last Sunday night. Lui was subsequently charged with nine counts relating to an alleged assault of his pregnant girlfriend, Taleah, earlier that day. The 20-year-old intends to "vigorously defend" the charges when the matter appears before Burwood Court in November. "Robbie did the right thing and ensured Robert was OK, before taking him up to the police station," a source close to the Tigers said.

All Hail! Captain Robbie!!! KING OF THE TIGERS :master:

Such a shame he had to deal with this on a day that the team had every right to be letting their hair down with a good old fashioned pub session.
They all deserved it after the effort put in over the past few months.
Congrats to Robbie though, he is a true leader….

I agree with Stryker that it's pointless to speculate too much based on the charges. I'm reliably informed the police almost always issue charges when there is a domestic violence allegation. Until the matter proceeds to a hearing and some further evidence emerges I'd be loathe to comment too much. Just a few points:

- As I understand it Lui presented himself to the police and was bailed. There was some suggestion he was remanded. I do not believe that to be the case.

- Robbie Farah deserves to be praised for the way he handled the situation. It's a good example that being a captain of a team doesn't end when the game does. He is a true leader.

- The club and our CEO have handled the matter as well as can be expected. In my opinion they have taken the correct balance of treating the matter seriously and considering the welfare of Lui and his partner.

His guilt, or innocence will be determined by the courts. Hopefully, the correct result will be achieved.

My biggest gripe with all this is slightly different- why are the media allowed to print the name of an 'accused' suspect like this when he has not been found guilty? I realise it's 'news', but this is the sort of thing that 'sticks' to a persons reputation. Even if he is found innocent, there will be people out there that will assume it's more to do with his 'star status' than any real innocense.

Don't believe me? We already had one poster suggest we get "Greg Inglis' lawyer" in? Why? Do we believe that Inglis is guilty despite beating the charges?

It's about time that a persons character isn't assasinated BEFORE they are found guilty- the media are very much to blame. Time for some laws to change- everyone should be given the right to be 'truly innocent' until proven guilty. Keep people's names out of the public light until proven guilty.

How many of you think Brett Stewart is guilty but 'got off'?

For those that follow the NFL- the Ben Roethlisberger situation is very similar. No charges were even laid, but he is still joked about as Ben RAPISTberger.

If found guilty, there is no way to defend the actions. He should be treated the same way as the club treated previous 'bad boys' such as Daine Lawrie, Kev McGuiness & Craig Field.

if he gets sent packing from tigers, he will go to cowboys as they will be in need of a 7 soon.

Not just a number 7 either ! Now I know why Gus Gould is going up to review their roster and the way things are done.

Just a point, why are we removing posts and locking topics regarding a serious police matter such as the betting scandal, yet this topic, just as, if not more serious, is relatively open slather??
