Roster Breakdown: 2024-2029

2027 starting backs

1 Bula
2 Turuva
3 Jake Averillo will be announced soon
4 May
5 Tino

NSW cup depth
1 Attard
2 TBD
3 Herbert
4 Makasini
5 Skelton-resign

That's how I see next year's back lineups and to be honest I'm fine with the depth for next year if it's like that, I'm more concerned with our forwards depth. Besides Ethan Roberts Im not happy with any of the forward depth we have this year at all
I think we still need another decent back, signed short-term, for depth.

I'm not sure Skelton will be re-signed. Reading the tea leaves, he must be missing the fitness standards. I can't see Benji sacrificing those.

I think he signed ot 2028 full time T&T. He will be upgraded you'd think to a Development/Minimum Top 30 after yesterday. Hope won't be resigned & Manese if all good takes his T&T money

I suspect him to be on the NRL bench the rest of the year…

I would be upgrading him to Top 30 next season, assuming he looks like he did yesterday the rest of the year … Hope will not be back, so he can take his spot on the Top 30…need 2 hookers

Whilst Josese had a very good first game that has probably earned him the understudy role to Api for the rest of the season. Lets just see how he goes over the next couple of months before we start committing to top 30 deals and succession plans
I though he was slow passing tbh. He would always take a step before passing. Needed off the ground passing a lot more when it went out the back.

Roster breakdown?

I wish it were.

Break this down. How many international, national , drug doers in the off season they have on a bad day playing? The Roosters

God help us if they had a real coach.

That’s exactly what I said in a different way -

He was a bit patchy, was blowing pretty hard after 20mins. So im guessing once the adrenaline wore out it hit him pretty hard. Will be better for the run. As a debut in such a critical positiion in a team coming off a spanking and playing in what was a very emotional game at leichhardt i give him an 8 out of 10.

Having an updated crack at our salary cap position for 2027.

Figures are all based off media articles from the time of their signings or extensions and/or estimates. Some are probably over & some under so possibly will even out.

NOTES:
- Base $11.7 million cap
- Estimating our club will be able to add an additional $200K (of max $300K) in veteran & developed player allowance for qualified vets Twal & Koroisau and qualified developed players Seyfarth, Makasini, Haywood.
- Total $11.9 million cap
- 22 players signed as per table below coming to $10.47 million.
- That leaves $1.43 million for 8 players + salary boost for Samuela Fainu. Unfortunately we wouldn't have the space for that based on these figures.
- We would only have $415k for Jake Averillo next season + 7 players on the minimum ($145k) to reach 30 players at 100% cap including allowance.
- So if we're going to recruit Averillo on a figure closer to the one reported + re-structure Samuela's contract even an extra $200k for next season, we will definitely have to move on at least one of Royce Hunt, Staford To'a or Alex Seyfarth (maybe 2). And that will mean promoting or signing up to 8 players close to minimum wage.

We don’t really know, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Terrell and Jahream both got upgraded to 1mil to get them to re-sign.

Just a few potentially off that stand out to me.

Broncos are chipping in 100k for madden, we are only paying him 50k next year.

Terrell & Taylans salary would be lower (700k & 600k), the upgrades kick in from 2028 when Luai is gone.

Latu and samuela had KPIs over the first 2 years of their contracts to be on 500k. We have no ideas on the ins and outs of the KPIs; however you would think Latu didn’t meet his. I believe he is on much lower, 3 - 350k.

That gives us about 500k back in the pocket atleast.

Just makes you ask how the roosters run with 12 rep players or souths are able to have/chase further rep players compared to our roster being at full cap

Bula isn’t on a mil, if we were comfortable paying that we would have just activated his clause at 900k to pause the media talk while they did the rest of the deal in the background.

Thanks @FrodoTBaggin will make some adjustments based on this.
