The game plan is clear posted it a few times re Flanagan. There are a few sympathising with Madge as there is more to the story. What I’ve heard from people with a good idea is we are asleep at the wheel with scouting and showing up to get deals done with players. Somethings up and it’s not all the coach.

As soon as Maguire comes under the microscope the mantra "look over there" emanates. He is accountable for the atrocious defence and must go.

We had one player miss 11 of the 48 missed tackles against Manly. We have an inexperienced roster not playing as a team, because they not only don’t know each other, but they are still learning to play . I honestly believe this is a true reflection of the entire organisation, and if that’s the case, sacking the coach will not fix it.

Defence is one thing. How do you explain the pedestrian looking attack that we play with each week. My under 10s footy side used to pass the ball out the back line like they do. They cant even draw and pass (Talau). That stuff should be second nature to these guys. We badly need a footy coach not a motivator.

Still leveraging his position to get Madge sacked and Flanagan in. Low life.

Yep, the David Jones line sounds more like something a 70 year old would come up with than a bunch or 20 year old footballers.

He has embarrassed himself with that one. What a silly old fool he has become

I can't remember the last time someone spoke to me about David Jones, let alone that tag line. I wouldn't think most people in their 20's would even know about David Jones, maybe if they took their Grand Mother shopping.

You'll hear a lot more of them now, they're moving into petrol stations lmao.

Don't know why anyone puts any stock into what that old alcoholic says about anything.

You see him on NRL360 and he has to wear a sports jacket over his shirt because he is sweating so profusely from the grog, and he shakes like a dog passing razor blades.

That's what passes for sports journalism these days.

One player did miss many tackles but this appalling defence has been there all year. This is Maguire's third year and surely has had sufficient tenure to imprint his defensive structure on the team. Enough with the excuses, it's time for him to go.

Defence is getting annoying we have put in only one game against south

If we started winning more than our share of footy games ...most of this disappears

Blame the club .....they recruit , retain , coach , train and ultimately picks the 17 every week

If they don't make the 8 ........

Yes, it’s such a pity the club doesn’t have a stronger focus on winning.
Personally, I prefer to have the Rothfields calling our club to account. And they do if we care to sieve through the bs to find reasons for our mediocrity.
The jab at Hartigan, could have actually been directed at those who override his decisions?
The WT appears to be disorganised and unprofessional. The wild wests doco could prove to be their biggest blunder if it reinforces this?

Exactly Buzz is calling out the club I say well done !**the media and others know exactly what’s going on within the club !**
I believe there has been a power shift within the club and not in a good way .
Flanagan will attract players ..Maguire doesn’t that’s Fact !
The club is floundering and needs a new direction .. I am glad finally someone is calling the club out because 11 seasons of not making a final serious is a massive FAIL by all that have administered this club in that period .

how did they know exactly? really?

Isn't the coach responsible for signing or re-signing a signficant part of the roster? There seems to be quite a bit of blame shifting happening.

He's responsible for all the good signings but had nothing to do with the bad ones apparently.

Paul Kent article is right something is not right at the club and it may not be just Madge.
We put in late offers for tpj and finucance I mean make your mind up guys we look like amateur hour we either want these players or we do not.
As for tpj we are in the race then withdraw then back in again.
I like Hartigan but something doesn't make sense between Hartigan Pascoe Madge and recruitment.

Not blame shifting....players are signed and recruited on their talent and ability....if they cant live up to the pressure of NRL then they may need a career change...it doesnt matter who coaches some of these blokes they still make the same errors week by week,TT full of errors,Noffa defensive issues for years.Pauga a gun talent so they say,FG really exposed his defense... and on it goes, the young guys will learn but it takes time to get everybody on the same page, the experienced guys know the system, the young guys have to learn the system...

Rothfield, Crawley, Hooper, Anasta, etc, etc. Fellas what are you doing to yourselves ?I'm going to share something I found out a while ago, and its made my life so much better. I don't read the Tele and I don't watch 360, both those media outlets go out of their way to antagonize us, none of it is actual news, they just do it for click bait, and our supporters fall for it every time.
I'm not putting my head in the sand and ignoring what sort of a basket case our club is, not by a long shot, but there are other league news sources out there, that actually report the facts and let you decide, find one.
Until you do, you are only encouraging the d#ckheads.

Journalists report the news, columnists do opinion pieces and think they are the news

People complain why we don't get a "fair ride" in the media, but continue to watch that same media in hopes that by some magic the media will be the one that changes. Everyone knows Tigers don't win enough football matches, you don't need the media for that, and everything else is a distraction.

I've said it recently, I've become very concerned how much football news and discussion is not about the actual football, but about off-field nonsense. It's become all very soap operatic the past few years, as evident by the volume of traffic this forum continue to get in the offseason. Not that I don't like talking about Tigers, but in the old days, when the football stopped, the forum went on semi-hiatus because there wasn't much to talk about. Now - there's no downtime, it's super-active even in November-January when there hasn't been a football kicked in months. I think that activity is a reflection of the rise of the off-field rumour mill.

It's really not just him. It's every journo. When you don't win games and can't sign anyone, these articles happen.
