Agree. I just hope we are not relying on Idris to be the replacement.

No, I've heard him linked to Newcastle and Manly though. Newcastle seems the most likely option if he leaves the Panthers as he sees himself as a fullback and he won't be playing there at the Tigers (Teddy) or Manly (Trbojevic).

Funny the clubs mentioned have gun fullbacks Gagai, Teddy, Turbo. I reckon he's a centre however, someone may pay him as a fullback I suppose. I can't see an international player signing with the Knights its not going to happen.

Gagai is not a gun fullback, he didn't even finish the season at fullback.

We're much better placed for round 1 2017 than we were '16\. For instance, instead of Milone and Buchanan in the squad we'll have guys like Felise, Idris and ET.

Your right but most of the other clubs are also in a better position. As I say every years, there are clubs that over achieve, clubs that under achieve and some just remain about the same. Just lets hope we over achieve in 2017

I think a huge part of our 1-17 will be influenced by Aloai's development. Moses is a fairly big concern in defence so we need a back rower on the right side who can act as a minder. Aloai is coming along really well but he is pretty far off playing 80 minutes, meaning we have to include another 2nd rower on the bench.

Does anyone know if Sue is looking to move back to the 2nd row or staying in front row rotation?

The roster for 2017 is still up in the air so no, nobody does know. If ET went then Sue would likely be back to lock. If ET stays then Sue will be a chance of playing 2nd row if Woods, Ava, Grant and Felise are fit and deserving of selection.

I know over 2014-2016 Sue has been much better as a middle player than an edge player, but with the 2nd row as a real weakness in our pack it would have benifted WTs to have someone like him in the 2nd row. I guess you have to play the player in the most suited position which for Sue is prop or lock.

How we used Sue for the last 5-10 rounds is exactly how we should be using him moving forward. Another edge second rower like a Gillette/Cordner/Graham/Lewis etc type player has to be our priority when spending some coin.

I don't know why a lot of ppl are wanting Sue to move to an edge backrower….. He hasn't got the speed nor the attacking flair to be a worthwhile move IMO. Maybe lock if ET decides to leave.

@Maxxy86 ; Who plays in the 2nd row in 2017?

I'd be extremely surprised if Taylor doesn't start with Lawrence and Aloiai.

2nd is our weakest position. Lawerence had some very good games there but he also had some games where he was ineffective. Aloiai is still very green. We need someone with more experience. Unless Aloiai has a magic pre season. Still when you look at other teams 2nd rower vs our you can see why we are placed down the bottom in Defensive stats.
I would love an intimating hard hitting play on the right edge.

They will be our starting backrowers one would think.

I am sure that they will start and in my mind it shows why we will struggle next year.Neither is going to worry too many teams hopefully Aloiai will improve, unfortunately Lawrences career was basically sabotaged by his cruel injury we need better.

Just remember that Aloiai didn't have any pre season last year due to him recovering from a broken hip.
He should be a lot better this year with a full off season to build up and be a lot fitter.

Well that holiday was great…..
Tigerdon I would go with Edwards and Lawrence. Joel would have started there at the beginning of '16 if he wasn't injured. Chris will be better with the season under his belt I think, plus he's got the game experience. On a side note I would have either Sue or Grant st lock also.

Tim Grant at lock?

Lock is basically a prop nowadays anyway.

Sue and Aloiai are difficult players to know where to play. I think they are both better up the middle but we really need an edge forward and they can play there.

If you consider the props and locks as middle forwards we are fine there. Maybe play ET on the right edge.
