OFFICIAL Round 1 Discussion *spoilers*

Look it’s round 1 but found this interesting when looking at the stats and game flows this week

Running & play making hookers might be making a come back. Most tries, average meters & multiple try assists by all hookers in a round for over 6yrs from my records.

Still have 2 games to go as well.

It could be the new rule having both legs back is giving more focus on player’s acceleration off the line allowing hookers to attack more directly leading to burrow across & also grubber behind the line. One to watch. Api is one of the best at this & in the trial Simpkin was running a heap, so will be interesting to see how this translates over next few weeks.
 
I noticed this too... Grant Mahoney Cook all had great games.
Someone mentioned they thought the Ruck seemed slower which wouldn't suit us... Didn't really seem to be the case to me.

Hopefully we keep it tight in D ourselves

It’s actually strange, Play the Ball speed is slowest it’s been for a while atm. I do think the 2 feet behind rule has made things interesting atm. Would make it harder to defend on the goal line as well.
 
It's the first round, and as such very unlikely to be much semblance of what is to come over the season.

Still, good to see both Grand Finalists getting done, along with the Dolphins looking good.
