After tonight's trial, and Simona's fall from grace, things are now looking a bit clearer heading into round 1.

1\. Tedesco
2\. Nofoaluma
3\. Naiqama
4\. Chee-Kam
5\. Suli
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks
8\. Woods
9\. McIlwrick/Liddle/Ballin
10\. Seumanufagai
11\. Sue
12\. Lawrence
13\. Taylor

14\. Idris
15\. Aloiai
16\. Grant
17\. Felise

I'd have same but I think Idris should be ok to start. Naiqama hasn't exactly shown anything in the trials to scream he is a certainty

Mcllwrick to start and Ballin to come off the bench is what I reckon will happen with the hooking duties due to Liddle and Ballin not having any game time as of yet and Ballin is the seasoned veteran obviously

Standouts in the trials to me have been Suli and Chee-Kam so that should get them the call up, aswell as Taylor and Aloiai have really impressed

After watching both trials ..I would run with

1\. James Tedesco
2\. David Nofoaluma
3\. Jamal Idris
4\. Kevin Naiqama
5\. Moses Suli

6\. Mitchell Moses
7\. Luke Brooks

8\. Aaron Woods
9\. Matt McIlwrick
10\. Tim Grant
11\. Sauaso Sue
12\. Chris Lawrence
13\. Elijah Taylor

14\. Jack Littlejohn
15\. Micheal Chee-Kam
16\. Josh Aloiai
17\. Ava Seumanufagai

I don't think McIlwrick can go 80 … Littlejohn and Chee-Kam pushed their claims tonight...

Suli also deserves a shot...

Agree a player like JLJ or Rankin needs to be on the bench to cover McIlwrick if he cant go the 80\. No harm in having one of them there and not using them IMO. All the other forwards can play big minutes so i have no drama having a 17th man just as cover and may not be used.

I would'nt have Kev their though. I felt much more confident when MCK was defending there.

I'd be happy with that. Particularly if Aloiai is going to play prop.

Disclaimer: Haven't seen any trials. Only the 9's

Based on this forum's posts. Sounds like Suli displayed the attributes to justify his big bucks. I'm already anticipating his debut. Round 1 or 26, sounds like he'll crack it this season.

Chee-Kam has always been a fringe 1st grade player but i have always felt he'll thrive in firsts if given the chance at the Tigers.

J Taylor will almost definately play Kevvy in round 1 and more than likely Rankin which i understand but i wold love to see a shake up in the early rounds and Taylor give these fringe guys a go. Sounds like they've earned it

Based on Liddle & Ballin not being right for Rd 1 & Simona out unfortunately:

1\. James Tedesco
2\. David Nofoaluma
3\. Jamal Idris
4\. Michael Chee Kam
5\. Moses Suli
6\. Mitchell Moses
7\. Luke Brooks
8\. Aaron Woods ©
9\. Matt McIlwrick
10\. Ava Seumanufagai
11\. Chris Lawrence
12\. Sauaso Sue
13\. Elijah Taylor

14\. Josh Aloiai
15\. Tim Grant
16\. Jack Littlejohn
17\. JJ Felise

I think we'll go ok

I think this a good team, light on experience on the right but a good team. If Liddell or ballin are up for it drop Littlejohn.

If we can hold our own against the bunnies pack we should go well. But first few rounds are always hit and miss.

with Liddle, Ballin and Simona under ? , the above is arguably the best team. :sign:

1\. Teddy (80)
2\. Nofo (80)
3\. Kev (80)
4\. Idris
5\. Suli (80)
6\. Moses (80)
7\. Brooks (80)
8\. Woods
9\. McIlwrick (80)
10\. Grant
11\. Lawrence (80)
12\. Sue
13\. ET (80)

14\. Ava (prop rotation)
15\. JJ Felise (prop rotation)
16\. Aloiai (on for Sue)
17\. MCK (on for Idris)

Try and run McIlwrick for 80 and if he is struggling move ET there and have Sue or Aloiai move to lock. If ET is making a lot of tackles in the middle it should take some of the defensive load off McIlwrick anyway and help him run out the 80.

I was glad to see Sue start in the second row. If Ava starts it will add much needed muscle to the pack. I'm really excited by Aloiai's form in the pre-season. Could pack some real punch off the bench.

Tedesco
Nofoaluma
Idris
Chee Kam
Suli
Moses
Brooks
Woods
Ballin
Ava
Lawrence
Sue
Taylor

Grant
McIlwrick/Liddle
Aloiai
Felise

I still am concerned that Sue will struggle in back row defensively especially when he encounters pure speed

Teddy
Nofa
Idris
Naiqama
Suli (But I think Rankin will be here… hope i'm wrong)
Moses
Brooks
Woods
McIlwrick
Grant
Sue
Lawrence
Taylor

Ava
Aloiai
MCK
JLJ/Rankin (If not picked on wing)

I think moving Sue to second row is great.. will make life tough for the outside backs and halves when he runs at them. Suli looks the goods and Im all for giving the kid a go, might as well throw him in their, give us some spark in attack coming out of our end. Grant needs to start the season well IMO, theres a few big boppers in reserves who are itching for first grade action and he's the first one on the pecking order if he doesnt start off 100%

Did not know Sue started on the right until I read this post. Though he went alright as he did when tried there a couple of years ago, I find it strange after playing Aloiai there all of last year that Taylor would change that up.

Would be good to see Suli also get a first up shot and like Josh, be able to hold down the spot all season.

Sue playing on the edge immediately gives us a big stronger pack.which is Something people have been asking for. I'm glad to see him training there in the preseason.
I just hope he has the lateral movement in defence.
I think it was the Cowboys number 4 that stood Sue up to score a try.
