1:57 collision- Tim Simona bumps Souths winger Aaron Gray into Tigers winger Jordan Rankin, Souths centre Kirisome AUVA'A picked up the loose ball & scored.

I like Willow's team but I would be more decisive about the hooking job. If Ballin is fit, and by all accounts, he is, I would start with him, with McIllwrick on the bench. If Liddle is ok, I'd plug him in for McIllwrick as he is the future in the hooking role. Regarding the centre positions, I don't think Idris is ready for the 60-80 min slog of first grade so, I agree with Kev and Chee-Kam. I like the selction of Suli too, as he is a big strong body and, even allowing for first game jitters, he has to be a better option than Taylor's favourite, Rankin. I's also swap a couple of forward starting/ bench positions as I prefer Grants and Aloiai' superior tackle breaking ability at the start of the game. For me, the board should look very closely at JT's selection policy as one of their marking criteria for his performance because, undoubtedly, some of his ridiculous selection decisions were illogical, unfair and, in the end, costly.
1\. Tedesco
2\. Nofoaluma
3\. Naiqama
4\. Chee-Kam
5\. Suli
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks
8\. Woods
9\. McIlwrick/Liddle/Ballin
10\. Grant
11\. Sue
12\. Aloiai
13\. Taylor

14\. Idris
15\. Lawrence
16\. Seumanufagai
17\. Felise

I don't think the three hookers you have picked could play 80 minutes on their own - therefore you need a replacement. The four non the bench are not dummy halves. As there are no Rankin and Littlejohn in your team - does that mean you are going to Elijah Taylor.

Not a good idea imho.

Sorry, I rushed that post and forgot to do all the editing on Willow's list. As I said, I'd start with Ballin, hopefully have Liddle on the bench and drop Felise off, despite him being a future gun. Down the track, the aim would be to promote Idris to a starting centre position in place of Kev or Chee-Kam and bring JJ up.

I would go with

1\. Tedesco
2\. Nofa
3\. Idris
4\. MCK
5\. Kev/Suli
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks (JLJ if not available)
8\. Woods
9\. Ballin
10\. Sue
11\. Lawrence
12\. Taylor
13\. Aloiai

14\. Liddle (if unavailable JLJ, McIllwrick, Rankin)
15\. Ava
16\. Grant
17\. from Edwards/Felise/Eisenhuth/Masters/Tatola

as WT defeated bunnies twice last year this game should be a breeze, with chief ball-hogger now on Bunnies side we only have to mark one man.

What is your side to take on Souff's ?….. Byron Bay Fan

Hooper reckons JT will debut Suli…..

The rookies set to debut

LAST year it was Ash Taylor, Nathan Cleary, Suliasi Vunivalu and Cody Walker who took a blowtorch to the NRL with breakout rookie seasons.

This year another talented crop of debutants are set to be given a crack at the big time in round one.

First-up premiers Cronulla will name local junior Jayden Brailey to replace the retired Michael Ennis at hooker.

Then on Friday night Wests Tigers coach Jason Taylor will name the million-dollar baby, Moses Suli, on the left wing.

This is the 18-year-old who signed a three-year $1.3 million contract without having played an NRL match.

Super Saturday will see the Canberra Raiders hand local young gun Nick Cotric a crack on the left wing. Cotric has been tipped to be equally as good as Raiders juniors Josh Dugan and Todd Carney.

The Newcastle Knights will also name another debutant, with the son of former coach Rick Stone, Sam Stone, tipped to win a spot on the bench for the Knights.

He's been training at left wing for quite a while now aswell as playing there in the trials. Only makes sense for him to play

In other news Ballin isn't looking fit in time for Friday so Mcillwrick will most likely start.

Takes a pretty special talent to play first grade after only 2 NYC games.

True, but its a bigger talent playing first grade when you should only be playing reserves.

I'm going to take a stab and say that neither Ballin or Liddle will be named and either Rankin or JLJ will be the utility to give McIlwrick a spell.

I think Rankin will end up being in the 17… :bawling

I hope it is in the 17 worst players to ever play rugby league, but I have a feeling that it might be bench utility :crazy

The coach will find him a spot in the 17, on the back of a horrid nines and ordinary trial against the cowboys.
