Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall is set to axe former NSW player Jack Bird.

Bird is expected to be relegated to 18th man for the clash against Melbourne. Tony Sukkar is in line to take his spot on the bench.

So who becomes our backline cover if this is the case? Api for halves, Sam Fainu for centres??
I'm okay with this as long as Tony actually gets game time unlike the Eels match in round 7.

Roll the dice and take a gamble on no injuries.

Bird has not played well against parramatta, sharks and dragons he has had some bad errors in him
if latu fainu is back round 13 he can cover birds spit in bench and alternate with galvin,

The new zealand warriors lost 42 - 14 to the storm in melbourne 4 weeks ago
They have now won 4 games in a row
So it won't feel that bad if we lose & if we fluke a win it will be 3 in a row
Win Win
😁

Bird is playing off the bench as a middle or edge forward/centre - NEITHER Galvin or Latu can cover those roles!!

Not sure dropping the only guy who can cover Centre after Nado couldn’t even finish the game last week is the right call Benji…

Melbourne are going to be targetting our wingers, peppering the corners with bombs, the height deficiency of our wingers compared to theirs makes it a no brainer.

I know both the boys have pretty safe hands, but it's hard to beat natural attributes and physics.

I hope the coaching staff have taken into account that obvious tactic and have done a few intense training sessions on that scenario.

Well with Warbrick out, they'll be peppering the corner for Coates.

Interesing on Bird if true. We've been rolled through the middle a bit each side of half time when he is usually on - potentially looking for more size against Melbourne?

We've also usually only been doing two interchanges in the first half recently when no injuries strike, Twal and Pole off for Hunt and either Bird or Fainu. Wonder if we front load against Melbourne and use extra interchanges to try and keep us in the game as long as possible? Not sure who though - if we take Api off before half time for Da Silva it doesn't really help our middles and would be suprised if May comes off before half time.

Must say, think we'll be in trouble if big Nelson comes on to the bench...

Remember the game Penrith short wingers neutralised their wingers buy letting them catch the ball in the air them swamped them.
