LIVE GAME Round 16 v Raiders

Live Game Discussion
Look, I love CSS. I have since I started following WT in 2002. But, it doesn't seem to have the atmosphere of other grounds unless it's absolutely packed. Last night, it was freezing cold, the Raiders were louder than us. I think they need to turn off the stupid music that is SO bloody loud, you can't even talk to your husband sitting next to you!

However, the crowd was behind the boys. Then the "odd" calls started, and it deflates. I yelled to hubby at one point, we (the crowd) go quiet when we see the "odd" decisions. And, seriously, if we find it disheartening, how must the players feel?

We can't get a 50/50 despite the noise, and so, we shut up. I dunno. It's sad.
Great effort in the cold, I understand totally, I grew up in Casula and moved to the Gold Coast at around 28, so convenient for me, I lived a 5 min walk from Casula station. I hated watching games there, no idea why, just felt soulless. Not too sure cause it wasn't a bad stadium, in an ideal location but just never felt like a home game anytime I went. Though the games there were never any good ones only the games that were like an after thought to the club. But the worst game and atmosphere I was at was at Skilled Park when Madge was our coach we lost 6 - 8. Brooks kicked 3 penalty goals the Titans scored after catching a kick in the last minute. That whole game you could have heard a pin drop it was terrible.

I agree we havnt had much rub of the green but I also think it’s made worse by our horrible captain challenges of late.

By failing them so early we can never challenge anything later in the game. Other teams then also push the envelope of us.

This was a successful captain's challenge for Canberra for a hair pull.
Why didn't the Bunker go back to first infringement on a challenge (where the Raider's winger was off side in the kick chase) ??

Oh, there's a touchie there too right in line, I just can't see his white stick.

You could say the same for Corey who was offside on the kick chase which lead to the fumbles that Raiders did a captains challenge for (same play).

Add into the 40/20 terrible call that was clear as day.

Do I add when the raiders gave up at least 5 penalties/repeat sets in a row on the line within 8mins and no sin bin.

People can say defensive efforts should be better, don’t disagree but in saying that these missed calls did make the difference in the game and costed us yet again.

I don’t care what others say but there is absolutely ref bias occurring currently.

As an experience, the game is always better live.

You always come away with more info than watching the TV.

How good is it going to be, to be there and to finally get the win at CSS?

A few years ago now at BankWest, we taunted the raiders fans no end. CNK destroyed us of course. He was at his full powers. If it wasn’t us, it would have been great watching him play that night.
X factor, long since deserted him.

But of course:

“Better to have xed once than never to have xed at all.”

Well done everyone who made the trek.

Oh.....so Cambo relies on peeps from the city to fill the ground.

I keep hearing about all the billions of people who live out there that are crying out for more footy, yet its those evil meanies from Rozelles fault right I get it.

Well if thats the problem lets not have all the beautiful waterside peeps travel so far and have all the games at the rectangle problem solved.

I must admit ive always fround this argument utterly hilarious and ridiculous. But i guess any excuse will do to cover the embarrassment i guess.

Facts are the crowds out there are pathetic and its like an away game for our boys. They even play uplifting music when the opposition scores it beggars belief.

You can be assured the next game at Lilyfield will be a sea of orange, noisy and full and the lads will notice it and play accordingly.

And we wont need to ask where the fans are from lol........
I posted these crowd numbers from last year at LO last night, but it still seems relevant.

Round 3 vs Sharks - 15, 990
Round 15 vs Titans - 8,147
Round 18 vs Storm - 10, 311
Round 22 vs Cowboys - 7,231
Round 25 vs Manly - 11, 520

Not much of a difference when we aren’t winning. Cambo was sold out twice.

Terrell showed he is human after all with that challenge last night.. it was a dumb one

Ive been going to Leichhardt for years and I am confident crowd figures have been reported incorrectly over the last 20 years.

In 2012 vs sharks at, LO it's reported we had 19,763 fans at the game that day..

I was also at the game vs Souths in 2005 which was LO record crowd of 22,877..

But when I compare to some of the games in recent years and the numbers reported - something doesn't add up... There have been games they report crowd figures of 8k but it feels like it's closer to 12k..

Maybe they could fudge the numbers back in the day?

Also, it didn't look like they had 9k at CS last night... Generally they stack the fans on the side the tv cameras face - and then that looked poor last night.

I have nothing against CS and I get to 1-2 games there a year... but I agree with another post someone said above that it just feels souless...

I just saw the results of the Panthers and Knights games. We must be the only team when going in as underdogs remain that way in the tipping comps

Dolphins were poor at the end. Katoa was too safe. He bombed to the middle of the back and Knights got tackled first on the 25m line. 20-20 you need to be more aggressive and at least prepare for a drop goal even if you don't take it. No attempt, just safety first. Good on the Knights for throwing it around
