TEAM LIST Round 16 vs. Raiders

Team List
You think so? He looks much more progressed physically than Galvin and would have twice the muscle mass of Charlie Staines…

I agree he needs another off-season for other aspects of his game, but physically he is ready.
I’m just going off the nsw cup game last week. He was driven back often when hitting it up on tackle 1 and 2 following a kick.

Yes, watching Manly this year, it was obvious that Brooks was given a very simple role - run the ball. Cherry Evans is really a class above Brooks for game management.
Go out and make Tommy Talau look like Wally Lewis on an ice skating rink. Simple.

Can the real Jahream Bula please stand up.
He’s not a young kid anymore, he’s not an inexperienced NRL player anymore, he’s long been touted as our saviour, we are decimated by injuries and desperately needing a win at Campbelltown to help get us off the bottom of the ladder.
The Raiders have a quality side, but are down in confidence, we should have a bit of confidence coming off a gutsy win at Leichhardt last week.
We desperately need Bula to step up, show what he’s capable of, have his best game of the season heavily contribute to our attack, be involved in line breaks and tries and lead us to victory.
No more excuses today has to be the day for it to happen.

Man are you good? The kid is most definitely inexperienced. He has got 31 games to his name and you can’t say you’re an experienced player with that many games. Not to mention the side he is in. The fact that we are solely relying on him for attack already shows why he can’t do much. Players chuck the ball to him expecting him to make it happen, or my favourite when they shift the ball so slowly and clunky that Jahreams really got no option but to take the tackle or throw a Hail Mary.

I understand where you’re coming from in wanting him to take that next step but he doesn’t have the players around him to allow himself to elevate. Imagine getting a ball on a shift and looking to your outside and seeing Naden and Staines, in my opinion you’d be smarter kicking downfield into touch then passing to those two.

31 games is quite a lot compared to the many rookie fullbacks who have been starring at NRL level this season.
Constantly blaming the other players doesn’t cut it anymore, the high quality players take the initiative and make things happen for their team.
We are no chance of winning today unless Bula is man of the match.

Next year when Luai and Turuva arrive he will be far more effective in attack as the opposition will have more players to concern themselves with in defence. Also if Matamua can impove his game he will become another attacking point for WTs.

I agree with this somewhat but given the state of our forward pack and the likely loss of Stef, there will be little go forward for these guys to play off the back of.

I think we are in trouble today.

Canberra are very good defensively so I don't see us scoring more than 2 tries. They are coming off a bad loss too. Our left side looks slow with AD and Faataape.

I'd be happy if we come within 18 points.
If I were Canberra’s halves I would be telling my 2rf, centre and wings to get ready to run bcoz we are sending everything at possibly the worst defensive centre pairing in history.

The only saving grace is raiders have just as bad discipline as us on their day. Rapana is capable of Brent Naden levels of stupid, too bad rapana is also 10x the player

Watch out if those two lock horns, couple of crazies going at it would be fun to watch. Although I think Naden will have packed his stupidity away for the rest of the season.
That would have been the deal with Benji if he ever wanted to play first grade again, injuries or no injuries.

Surely we have a cunning plan following last week's glorious victory where we beat the team that just flogged the Warriors by 60 points. 🤣 🤣 🤣

We have a patched up team made up of mostly cup quality players. 8-10 players that would be playing as first choices are on the side line and we are playing a side that historically have the wood on us in a big way. Don’t like being negative but it’s men vs boys today. Staying within 30 points will be a miracle!

Brent's related to Malcolm Naden so I reckon he'd have Rapana covered in the crazy stakes.

King Bula is experiencing a bit of second year syndrome. Many great players have suffered the same, in far better systems and teams. I believe in him

Its wet. He will spend most of the game on his ass. The amount of times this kid slips over is incredible.

And those rookies have been caught out defensively quite often and have a poor kick positioning in them. What Bula makes up for in attack is defence and consistency. High quality players do step up and take initiative but as a full back there is only so much you can do. So you kinda have to rely on good ball playing to give you time and space to make that play/pass, which he doesn’t get. Otherwise he just has to take those tough carries, which he also does.

One thing I will say is we are not using his aerial ability enough nor is Jahream putting himself in those positions enough. He has got a leap in him and has more often than not come down with it. I do agree though he needs to really perform if we are to win this game.
