To’a at 6 is interesting.
He has never shown any inkling to be a ball player, even as a center his run to pass ratio is very low. He charges into the defence with force and keeps moving, that’s his strength.
His tackle efficiencies are not great either, always sub 90%. Additionally, he will be required to be the dominant long kicker as Wakehams long boot is not fantastic.
He makes a lot of meters running the ball, but that’s against centres and wingers. Now he is facing halves and backrowers.
Not saying he can’t do it, but I would have used a specialist and hoped that they could step up. We tried to manufacture him as a fullback last year to our failure, hopefully we aren’t repeating that effort and havent weakened our centres to also weaken our halves.
Surely he can't be as bad as our preferred 6 before his injury.
I trust he can use his strength to our advantage in attack and listens to the advice Benji gives him about when to feed his outside men and when to take the line on. He strikes me as a heads up player so is likely to play what he sees as opposed to having some preconceived ideas.
His defence could be a problem against a livewire like Prezet. If he work hard with the edges during the week he is big enough to put some real starch into Prezet if he catches him. A couple of early Jack Whighton type of hits may be enough to put him into his shell.
An interesting experiment - will it be pure Sheenius? I guess we will have to wait until Saturday to find out.
