TEAM LIST Round 16 vs. Storm

Team List
Jonneh Bateman Captain!! If this bloke doesn’t make you want to go to war alongside him no player will. Surely he plays on an edge, his attack is ruined at lock, made 60 tackles last week. You can’t have your main attacking strike weapon defend that much. Seyfarth and Talau are literally a waste of 2 spots on the bench. Surely Matamua at Lock and Aitasi James on the bench for punch

Actual or projected team KR, I thought announcement tomorrow on a short week ?

Would've liked to see someone like Zane Camroux given a go at 6 with Daino being concussed & the halves options being very limited. Someone like Will Smith isn't one for the future so I can understand why they didn't go that way but To'a has been killing it at right centre & you risk playing him out of form/losing confidence by playing him at 6.
Trust me, his confidence will go through the roof, “running the side”. Tigers 13+

Crap game for TDS to debut.

Won't be able to gauge much I suspect, but hope he plays his part well. A lot of hype.

I’d be using the Bellamy strategy of giving him three things to focus on.

Make your tackles effective
Clean ball to your ball carrier out in front
Run when the ruck is quick

Do those things well and it’s a good debut. Everything else is just noise.
Excellent advice for an emerging player.

Really disappointing to see players like Talau keep their spot after last weeks game. Even worse seeing him and Seyfarth both in the 17.
A lot more players out there who’d do better and most certainly deserve a chance. Not these two.

It’s Sheenius, as they say. I suppose we can be thankful he hasn’t put a forward in there (yet)

Risky, but given where we are atm, why not be risky I guess?

Storm still have a big pack of forwards & Hughes. This game will be won in the trenches. Those complaining Seyfarth is in the squad- his size is needed. Talau is probably the one I'd sacrifice. James or Fainu would help counter the massive size of Nelson, let alone the rest of that pack.

To’a at 6 is interesting.
He has never shown any inkling to be a ball player, even as a center his run to pass ratio is very low. He charges into the defence with force and keeps moving, that’s his strength.
His tackle efficiencies are not great either, always sub 90%. Additionally, he will be required to be the dominant long kicker as Wakehams long boot is not fantastic.
He makes a lot of meters running the ball, but that’s against centres and wingers. Now he is facing halves and backrowers.
Not saying he can’t do it, but I would have used a specialist and hoped that they could step up. We tried to manufacture him as a fullback last year to our failure, hopefully we aren’t repeating that effort and havent weakened our centres to also weaken our halves.
