LIVE GAME Round 19 vs. Sharks

Live Game Discussion
I don't think anyone one of us is surrendering. We are passionate loyal and I see that when I go to games. We turn up ,but when do they turn up? Not all the time. No one apart from naden is dropped. I would prefer to get 50 on us and play the cubs.

When does Benji wield the axe. If he doesn't agianst souths next week ,the he is responsible and must fall on the blade. We must set standards. To many like sfeff klem and co are just going through the motions and taking the piss waiting fir other offers .

If the club doesn't say enough and start the axe it will by denial be responsible.
Bring the kids in and start the real build not the bullshit one.
Good post.

Does one serve the club by being more critical? It certainly ended the careers of Lee and Co.

I think the tolerance levels for each of us are different.

I’m in the cohort of growing frustration as the season turns into inevitable chaos.

I’ve tied my flag to Richos mast for the moment but as you know, if I sense incompetence I won’t wear it.

But I’m not surrendering.
I was gonna share this (the quote below) last night when I saw all the posts about the lack of progress with the roster and complaints about Richo's performance in his role. (It perfectly captures his and our predicament 😂 and what's still needed) These frustrations and the lack of progress are a direct result of our strategic plan being constantly modified or reset. Any successor in such a role is inevitably faced with these challenges, as the goalposts are always moving and long-term progress becomes difficult to achieve.

However, I don’t think Richo’s past successes should be overlooked. His experience and expertise can play a pivotal role in guiding the Tigers through this challenging rebuild, which probably requires a complete reconfiguration, and helping us reach our goals.img_2_1720717784931 (1).jpg

I get your sentiment, but that’s not true. We do have current rep players who played in the end of season Test fixtures in 2023. We are not chock full of talent, but are also underachieving.

We allow ourselves to be victims in that sense.
Mostly agree with your post, except the rep player statement. That's like comparing gourmet restaurants to fast food chains. Being selected for teams like Australia or New Zealand is like getting a Michelin star, while playing for the other teams is more like Macca's - not on the same (elite) level.

I like u thought getting Richo things would change, but looking in it’s just getting worse , I think this believe in the kids will be the downfall, yes , bula , Galvin and maybe 1-2 more but none are forwards that will give us a platform for our backs next season .
I am happy with the no leaks , but u have to give us supporters some hope , a trip to England, and NOTHING, clubs all around us making good signings. It’s hard to get on board when ur completely keeped in the dark .
What has the messiah Richo actually done?

Pulled together a completely inexperienced coaching squad.

Released players.

Paid 1.4m for Luai (will see how that works out).

Lost us a bunch of sponsors.

Moved us back to Parramatta’s home ground which most fans from whichever side of the merger hate.

Signed players managed by his family.

That would be quite an achievement list for someone trying to undermine the club and leave our juniors for someone else to consume.

This is why we are so bad ,
Go back and see the sharks forward pack then check out the bench, then remember Williams injured , talakia out , then they got Blake coming next year .
And what do we do release blore , papa , stepho going , pole not resigned , and if I was him I would be moving on too .
To think we can compete with teams with kids is madness, is Richo going to continue this kids push or is he going to get serious and bring in some starch in the forwards and backs .
Lobb should never play 1st grade again
AD played one good game to get a contract
Faapata (spelling ) has no speed not 1st grade
Porter try’s hard but nsw cup only
Sezer pass his best , better play young samuals brother
Benji has to GO , not sure who we can get but he needs to a experience coach
What other marquee players would come here?

"Young Samuel's brother" is Latu Fainu, a half who came with a big reputation but dodgy hamstrings. Had a couple of NRL games this season off the bench, only to show he isn't ready. I'd leave him in reserves till 2025.

Sezer is terrible and off contract. Drop him.
Sullivan is terrible as well and has 3 more years. May as well give him a go, couldn’t be worse.

Rewatched the game without the emotion of the live watch so picked up on more of those little things & effort areas that let us down.

I do feel that the performances & efforts of Stefano, Klemmer, Doeuihi, Lobb in the 1st half contributed greatly to the blow-out, simply the deflating influence their efforts had both in attack & defence. All 4 were atrocious!!!

I'm not saying we would have won if we had 4 better players than them but it would have been much closer & the efforts of the others would have lifted.

Stef needs to be brought in for a please explain.
Lobb is not a 1st grader.
AD needs to be dropped to Cup or the utility bench position (and given focused tackling training for his development).
Klemmer I feel has been told he is free to leave, can't explain it otherwise.

We don’t need marquee players we need solid players , like Curran , Mann , salmon these type of players are workers which we don’t have

Glad Benji didn't praise anyone in particular in our team last night. When you're on the receiving end of 2 significant losses no one needs smoke blown up their asses. WTs are a team and a shit team at that. Grow some balls and at least play with some conviction. Anyone who doesn't turn up to play and can't at least tackle needs to pack their shit and find a real job.

Yes.

Hand on heart we knew this year was more likely to be a struggle to some extent.

Bulk legacy signings from Tim who was way out of his depth.

Richo has had the success, but as he’s finding out, we are whole new ball game.

Still too early to lay it on him.

There is a difference in rep players - the best in the comp -and players chosen to play in rep teams. IPap the only NZ player and who has one foot out the door. We have a team that is largely full of depth players at most other clubs and we are at the point that we are using our depth to replace depth standard players.

I hate how Klemmer runs into the line backwards, just like soft **** Woodsie ...We need someone that will hurt the tackler when they run....

Papali’i, Utoikamanu and Matamua all played a tri series involving teir 1 nations Australia and New Zealand as well as the runner up, Samoa, from the last World Cup final.
Bula and Porter played their own tri series involving Fiji, PNG and Cook Islands. Not elite footy, but great exposure to training and preparation.
Bateman, Fainu and Toa played in a 3 test series involving 4th in the world v 5th in the world…England and Tonga.
Also, don’t forget Api and Stef both played in the 2023 Origin series.

It is not correct to blame our fortunes simply on the roster.

All players who played rep spent a month in camp preparing and playing, whilst taking on teir 1 nations.
No one repped for the no.1 ranked team (AUS), however 1 repped for no.2 ranked team (NZ), 2 repped for no.3 ranked team (SAM), 1 ranked for no.4 ranked team (ENG), 2 repped for no.5 ranked team (TON), plus Bula starred for Fiji.

Tucker you could get selected to play for Fiji, Cook Islands or PNG.
A NSW Cup team of the year member holds more weight than being selected to represent these nations.

I thought you were talking about the standard/quality and skill level of our rep players, which is what I was trying to highlight. It's apples and oranges.
Other than Koroisau none of those players have had a hand in improving us as a team.
He and Papalii are probably on the same level as their opposing players though.

I agree some of those with experience at high performing levels have been poor leaders.
