Of course there are more factors at play, but there is also one common denominator amongst it all.If there's 10 years of failure that's bigger than one player. That's a club issue.
If you are seriously going into bat for Luke Brooks though, sheesh.

I'm honestly not sure what you wish to dispute, as arguing about Brooks doesn't change the fact he's still our halfback and pinning the team's ongoing lack of success onto him sounds absurd.Of course there are more factors at play, but there is also one common denominator amongst it all.

It doesn't all get pinned on him for me.I'm honestly not sure what you wish to dispute, as arguing about Brooks doesn't change the fact he's still our halfback and pinning the team's ongoing lack of success onto him sounds absurd.
That's a club management issue... was all I was pointing out.
Thanks for clarifying as while I don't agree with everything you've said, I do know players need other good players around them too, in order to excel. It doesn't all get pinned on him for me.
But a halfback is a large part of a clubs success as well. It goes both ways.
If we had Cooper Cronk, instead of Luke Brooks for example, our results would be vastly different. There is no argument here.
Tbh u gotta be a egoist to be a great halfback imoThanks for clarifying as while I don't agree with everything you've said, I do know players need other good players around them too, in order to excel.
Nathan Cleary is a great example IMO of how a team around you can also lift or enhance your abilities. Funnily enough I think he's a lot like Cooper Cronk.
We had Tedesco, Simona, Koroibete, Farah, Marshall but without forwards we could not do anything, so I don’t thing Cronk would make any difference. It doesn't all get pinned on him for me.

I absolutely agree with this. You need to be either ruthless or composed but willing to call all the shots - in order to be a great halfback.Tbh u gotta be a egoist to be a great halfback imo
Brooks lacks self confidence

We would have won our last game I think with Cronk. It doesn't all get pinned on him for me.

He made more runs than Blair ever did in his career on SundayI thought he looked fairly innocuous. Never threatened in attack or D. Hope hes not another Blair...only looked good when surrounded by better players.
Or a cool head. I don't think Cooper Cronk had an ego, but he was the ultimate professional and naturally cool under pressure. Brooks doesn't have that either unfortunately haha.Tbh u gotta be a egoist to be a great halfback imo

Hasn't that been the whole point of improving the roster? No go forward, no strike, hence this our main priority
There's not many quality halves on the market and we had too many weaknesses across the team (backs, forwards, spine) that needed urgent attention.
Replacing the likes of Musgrove and Mikaele and the Joey Leilua and (no disrespect) Jimmy the Jet types etc., whom either aren't very good or on the verge of retirement.
Teams like the Broncos and the Titans have always had talented backs or forward packs. A team like the Bulldogs has even gained better strike players.
We need to probably use a similar blueprint to Sharks by recruiting in vital positions and retaining our best juniors. John Morris did well with their pathways and IMO it's a shame we couldn't land him.
If we're 0/6 then by all means go for it but think it's a little premature to call how someone's going to perform when they've played their first game in a brand new team (dynamic) and have had little time to build on chemistry or combinations.
We've made necessary upgrades in a couple of areas, so there's no doubt in my mind that the club will continue with this if we (our players in key positions) continue to fail.
Hope you're right.more confident this week than I was last week. nullify their back five and spot set Ponga in defence. their bench is as poor as ours but we'll make more ground in those periods given how expansive we are. Doueihi will isolate Ponga down that right side and Papali'i will have a field day up against Hastings. Brooks and Koroisau with another week under their belts will improve considerably also.

You can see him always second guessing what he is going to do when he receives the ball... I actually think he thinks about what might go wrong instead of just making the play, which leads to errors easily.I disagree with this but I do think his confidence is shot. I just think his confidence is shot because of making so many mistakes.
If he started executing well I think he would gain that confidence.
I really think it was stupid playing him in firsts last weekend. They should have gone with Wakeham and played Brooks in reserves. When/if Brooks finds form throw him into first grade.
Wonder whyTbh u gotta be a egoist to be a great halfback imo

Shawn Blore told us at the open training session today he has failed the concussion protocols and has been ruled out for Sundays game. He said it was a bad concussion and he doesn’t remember anything from the game.
