The game is getting bigger and he seems to be getting smaller. Wasn’t a fan of the signing but hope he comes out plays above his weight and proves me wrong.

I think he has always been that player that pushes above his weight but in that photo he looks severely underweight. Get him on the dirty bulk

But why is he underweight? You have to think, 'well, that's a bad start', when the player you signed for 4 years is not available for at least the first two starts of the comp. Does anyone know the real story behind the Bateman issues? Apologies if I missed the detail.

There's no real issues. It doesn't matter how long you train for on your own, nothing beats training with the team with the proper staff around him. The staff are doing the right thing by not rushing a big signing back in a panic and risking injury...I think this rebuild is a 2-3 year process - we can't panic after a loss to a well-organised team, especially considering we dropped the ball 4-5 times in key areas of the field.

Not to mention the goalkicking shortfall.

Talking like he's never played nrl or world cup recently. Just be patient with judgements

Looks can be deceiving ...I remember a J.Thurston was shown the door at the Bulldogs because they said he was to small and lightly built for NRL...how did his career go ?

The game has changed since then, as the poster after me said the players are a lot bigger these days. Some wingers are even 100kg+

I disagree with this but I do think his confidence is shot. I just think his confidence is shot because of making so many mistakes.

If he started executing well I think he would gain that confidence.

I really think it was stupid playing him in firsts last weekend. They should have gone with Wakeham and played Brooks in reserves. When/if Brooks finds form throw him into first grade.

I totally agree Wakeham should have gotten the nod over Brooks. Give Brooks a break or something and build confidence in Reggies.

That said, I think the underlying point is right. Brooks just doesn't and never has displayed "match" confidence.

It's just NOT HIM. Yes he should gain confidence but he should be shifted to 5/8 or hooker or center or SOMETHING NOT HALFBACK!

Brooks won't lead the pack.

I don't expect him too. I'll be happy if he minimizes his errors and contributes something in attack.
