LIVE GAME Round 21 vs. Dragons

Live Game Discussion
Something that didn't surprise me and something that did from last nights game.

What didn't surprise me is that Toupu is a gun when he gets quality ball instead of having the play stifled before it gets to him. He could have had a hat-trick if Talau passed the ball later in the 2nd half. I get Rawalawa was playing on 1 leg in the 2nd half, but he showed what he is capable of...just get him the ball!

What did surprise me is the one to give him that quality ball was none other than Daine Laurie! It is easy to say he is playing for a contract (and that possibly had a lot to do with his performance last night), but I think under the right kind of playing style he has a lot to offer. His talent is not in question imo, more his attitude and application.

My 2 cents.
Daine Laurie is going to Penrith next year isn't he ?

We were not firing with Brooks when he was available or AD,what was your excuse then?Tim used to be a decent coach but that was over a decade ago and he is a massive part of the problem as to why we are where we are on the competition table
Another 2 KOE halves.
His point was we need NRL standard halves.

Looks to be just barely going through the motions to me man....
A couple times the other night (Not for the first game)
He gets in the clear and barely breaks out of a jog - Looking for someone to bail him out as soon as he gets a chance.
Yep, lack of confidence.

Wow we can't be the worst
A team that tigers beat this year (Penrith ) is paying $1.01 vs Dogs who are paying $ 19
Never seen such odds before !

No, that’s about as lopsided as it gets but the Dogs with -30.5 start @ $1.90 could be a better punting option.

Our attack is poor, especially halves. We have nothing to lose but wakeham picked over Lawrie again and again.

Lawrie picked in halves. Ignites our left edge. Tackles well in the line.

Leaves club.

Disappointing selection and player management for mine.
I think Daine Laurie lost favour a long time ago and has spent time off injured and kicking stones in reggies.

Not disputing that player management has been poor, and he is definitely not the only one that has probably suffered that fate, but I think the performance the other night was more a show for Penrith to let them know that he may have something to offer when he returns to his beloved Penrith next year.

Just leaves me wondering where that leaves Brent Naden because if he and Laurie are such great mates, then does this leave him here still on contact for 2024 and 2025 moping and kicking stones and not realising whatever potential he has because his best mate has been let go and was seen by him as not being treated well while he was here.

After the game I went looking for the club souvenir shops View attachment 6026
Gee if I had known that all that good stuff was available I would have used some of the $2.50 member's credit I have left after blowing the rest on a Members Card and postage.

Still can't work out why they give you a lanyard as part of you membership pack but then you have to buy a Member's Card to clip onto the lanyard using your Member's Credit. (I forgot about the postage which eats up half of it)
