If you are in Doueihi’s shoes, why is an overpaid blow in who is leaving the club being given favouritism over a loyal long time player and local junior who took unders to stay with us?

Wests Tigers star Adam Doueihi is a shock withdrawal from Saturday’s NRL clash with the Canberra Raiders following a heated argument with coach Benji Marshall at training on Thursday.
Doueihi walked out of the club’s Concord headquarters after Marshall told him he would be playing lock, rather than his preferred position in the Tigers’ halves.
The Tigers playmaker had been named in reserve jersey No.22 to tackle the Raiders with Eels-bound star Jarome Luai and 19-year-old NRL debutant Javon Andrews named in the halves for the clash in the nation’s capital.
However, Doueihi successfully fought a high-tackle charge at the NRL judiciary on Tuesday which cleared him to line up against Canberra
It’s understood Doueihi believed he would be inserted back into the halves, and was surprised when Marshall told him he would play in the back row, to potentially come off the interchange bench as a substitute for No.13 Alex Twal.

Doueihi fronted Marshall to express his anger before asking for time away from the club to consider whether he would play in Canberra
Tigers chief executive Shaun Mielekamp confirmed Doueihi’s withdrawal on Thursday afternoon.
“Adam won’t be playing this weekend,” Mielekamp said.
“Adam and Benji met this morning to discuss a plan for the weekend. Benji made a call on what’s best for the team but as a result Adam has asked for some time off and we agree to that.”
There’s no suggestion at this stage that Doueihi will seek a release from the remaining three years of his Tigers contract.
After the pair’s dust-up, Doueihi left Concord immediately and did not train with the Tigers in one of their main sessions of the week.
Privately, Doueihi was highly frustrated at being benched, given his solid form this year, and the fact Luai will be leaving at season’s end to join Parramatta

A demotion to the interchange bench or even lock-forward — a position the 27-year-old has played only twice in his 127-game NRL career — has been suggested as an option.
Marshall was coy when questioned about team selections on Thursday morning, before news of his argument with Doueihi emerged.
“Oh, I just make decisions week-to-week, um, based on what I think we need to win the game. Again, we’ll, we’ll make a decision for this week and then we’ll decide what’s best for next week,” Marshall said.

At least Luai rocks up every week, accountable for his performances and willing to play anywhere for the team.

Wow. Team first player ay. Doueihi has always only ever wanted to play in the halves. He has no interest in what he is best suited to or what is best for the team. Id sack him. Let him see that not one club would play him in the halves

Has Doueihi taken accountability for his own performances the past few weeks?! Sounds like he hasn't!
Maybe best long-term for both he & Luai to move on next season tbh. His attitude in times of adversity has been very poor.
