Had a great game in defence and attack
I think we've found our best option for starting prop. I know Twal had 10 on his back but Terrell and Sione were dogged, no puns intended. Terrell not his best game either, but it helped to have another prop who didn't wilt after 10 minutes.
If no better options 2026, I'd start with Terrell-Api-Sione, KPP and Samuela, Doueihi. Twal was good yesterday, if he can just get that higher intensity every week he's a good big-minutes sub with Pole and Hunt for impact off the bench. You then don't so much require a Seyfarth / Sukkar / Bird limited ability workhorse when your starting props don't need a break after 17 minutes.
Longer-term aspirations - you aim for another quality prop and backrower, I keep saying Tino which is wishful, but another proper quality forward so you don't need to carry 10-minute Royce on the bench.
I currently support having Royce on the bench because it's a big deal to bring on a guy that can absorb impact when the opposition tries to rally in defence. It happened again yesterday, that we subbed the forwards and Dogs put in huge effort for several sets to try to regain control of the match, and it helps to have a guy like Hunt who is dangerous in contact even if they throw lots of bodies against him.
Tigers are otherwise very susceptible to big defensive pushes from the opposition because we lack out-and-out size and power; we don't have any other player like Hunt who can make a barnstorming run off a short start.
But obviously 10 minute Royce is a liability long-term, we can't be asking our starting props to play 65 minutes every week for 24 rounds.
