LIVE GAME Round 25 vs Roosters

Live Game Discussion
Just watched the recorded game. Great to get the win. Roosters were pretty bad which helped us massively and we missed three goals which made the game tight. We were losing the field position game but were able to hold our defence and make some smart plays to get get to their end. We haven’t been that good for weeks. Nice way to finish the weekend and soften the bad feelings running into the end of the year. Positive vibes for next week and our chances against the Cows.

I think many of us owe the WTs a massive apology for writing them off so badly
Who else wants to own it
Sorry boys
Didn’t watch it as I’m totally exhausted and disappointed with what’s happened to our season.
But yes I’m really glad for all wests tiger fans, the coaching staff and players and particularly Benji who’s been dealt some pretty tough cards this year.
We should not take this as a win win as there is a lot of work to be done in the off season and that must include upgrading the roster and support staff for Benji (assuming he survives).
Things will not improve and we will continue to struggle until we get some aggression & steel in defence and get some on field leadership to keep the fire burning for the full 80 minutes.
There are so many things missing in our game and in our roster that I would not know where to start to fix this.

So i sat this game out i just didn't have it in me, I was actually busy but i could have caught bits and pieces but i chose not to. First time ever i have missed a match in some capcity when i could have juggled it. I'm glad we won but this team has just worn me down, i was actually having visions of the Roosters eclipsing the cowboys rout.
I did just watch the mini and plan to watch the game back but were we good or the Rooster were just poor, i'm imaging a combination of both from the shorts.
We matched the Roosters physically and the Roosters like a lot of the better NRL teams, don’t know what to do when they are not dominating physically and dominating the ruck speed.
All our forwards, in particular our middle forwards deserve a big pat on the back for showing they can match the better forward packs physically when they want to.
Our two big bodied wingers done a great job assisting with their regular strong ball carries.
Well deserved win, it was reward for effort and commitment to play with plenty of physicality.

Having watched both press conferences, we were definitely the better team. Really disappointing not to be credited by Trent Robson. Instead, he came up with every excuse why his team lost.

I just don’t get how this club always gets landed with high priced dud superstars.
I pray there is another Tommy or Wayne out there somewhere ….. to badger and drive these forwards as this team certainly need such a person for it to reach any level of improvement or success.
Good night!

As mentioned by others, starting Terrell off the bench was the kick up the backside he needed as he has not been playing anywhere near his best over the past 4-8 games in particular, but he was very strong today.
Fonua Pole was our most dominant ball runner and I think despite our poor results he has had a very strong back end of this season,
I don’t think he realises how good he can be, he is potentially a top 5 prop in the NRL and I hope we keep him with us long term.
I’m very happy Alex Seyfarth is finally getting a bit of praise. His effort and passion for the jersey cannot be questioned and has also had a strong back end of the season.
Despite an early handling error I thought Sione Fainu played strong and a few strong charges from Bunty when he cone on in the 2nd half were exactly what we needed.
Very good combined effort from our middle forwards, particularly after losing Twal in the first minute of the game.

I was at the game today. Some thoughts.

• Herbert threw the last pass for our first three tries. And two of them were beauties. Herbert is good enough for a spot in our top 30.

• Luai just stifles the attack, as opposed to Jock who digs in and creates space for his outside men. On Skelton’s second try it was interesting to see Jock cut Luai out and threw it straight to Herbert.

• Pole was excellent. He had a slow start to the year but his second part of the season has been excellent.

• we complain about Jocks goal kicking tonight but it worked in our favour in the end. If Jock had of kicked one more conversion the roosters would not have taken the penalty goal to go to 24 all. They would have been forced to go for the try and I’m not sure we could have held them out. We were giving up 60-70m per set at the end.

• API’s passing is problematic. Like really problematic. His minutes must be reduced next year. Which will mean Haywood or Brailey will have to be one of four interchange players and the swap out will take up 2 of 8 interchanges. Unless Brailey plays the first 25 before going back to lock.

• Seyfarth plays hard. There’s no good reason to be moving him on.

• Sam Fainu was limping very badly after full time. His right foot.

• Terrel May used great anticipation to get that last interception.

• API’s missed 20/40 I don’t mind. We were going nowhere and it was almost perfect. But, we had to spend three sets defending our line after that and we used so much energy that it almost cost us the game.

• we have no halves that are adequate in all facets of the game. They all have at least one aspect that they are really poor at. If we can get a genuine 7 I’d be happy to let Douhie go.

Not much bench use again, some big minutes. Explains if the boys were gassed at end of game.

You reckon coach should of used mason and hope or he made the right call?
