No guarantee that Makasini will be ready for regular NRL from the start of 2026 and Luke Laulilli still needs to fix his defence before he’s a regular NRL player, so we are a player short in the backline.
As you have pointed out we have no genuine NRL quality back up 9 and a dominant middle would be nice whether that is supposed to come from I don’t know.
The positive is the continued rise of all 3 Fainu brothers and the continued rise of Taylan May should we re-sign him.
Luai is a very good smart defender, but his kicking game and 5th tackle options is a big concern.
I ask the question would we be any worse off with Douehi and Latu as our halves pairing ?
We would probably be slightly worse off in defence, but our attack would lose nothing.

This team just continues to put out shit year after year and expects the fans to bend over and take it up the rear. Today's loss was entirely predictable and is symptomatic of a club with a huge culture problem that has been in place for a long time and is no better today than it was in the middle of our spoon threepeat.
If this team has Benji as coach next year and has any of the following players Sukkar, Naden, Mason, Murray, Twal or Seyfarth, in our starting 17 then we will have a year much like this year. This is a test for Richo who I rate but he's got some hard decisions in front of him and cannot afford to shirk them.
But the good news for me in 2026 is WT will not be getting a cent of my money.
